Miss the NIT?

There's a good chance IU doesn't even make the NIT. Is that a concern for the momentum we had over the last four years? Specifically recruiting and alumni support (Simon did just pump money into the program).

This is true, and the way we are playing, we might not even finish .500!

We need at least two more regular season wins to preserve a .500 record.  So say we finish 6-12, 16-15 then go one and done in the B1G tourney, at 16-16 we would still meet the minimum qualification for the NIT.  Given our remaining schedule, I can't feel that finishing 2-4 is a slam dunk. 

 

Not even being NIT eligible would just be more salt in the wound.

I don't want to play in the NIT. NCAA or see you next year. Even if IU did get a home game guarantee it would be half full at best.

The added experience isn't a bad thing. Time to get past that sense of entitlement that a lot of IU fans possess!! ;)

Agreed. That was part of the problem when ESPN ran it. Many .500+ teams bailed because it was viewed as a losers tournament. I saw a mock nit bracket on nit bracketology. They had Indiana as a 3 seed BEFORE the Penn St. game. Wonder where they will put them now.

man...eff the NIT...the last time we were in the NIT, I made the trip up to Bloomington...

got a speeding ticket in Orange freaking County,

sat a row behind the Governor, spent the entire evening trying to butter up to him in hopes of taking care of my ticket, only 

to lose to Vanderbilt on our home floor, pissing off the Governor, and dashing my chance of getting a pardon....

 

what an awful night.
