Indiana Pacers 2.0

I guess the best you can hope for is that it is a clean break without any ligament damage.  So awful to look at though.  Seeing that pic once, that is more than enough for me.  Such a grotesque looking injury.

Not surprisingly, Pacers Digest is having a hard time with this. Some of them think it's career ending and calling it "the worst injury in the history of pro sports."

It looked bad, but I honestly felt the Ware and Livingston injuries looked worse.

Have a hard time believing the career ending part. And yeah I barely saw any bone on this one. Plus I wasn't at the game with people throwing up around me, so I'd say Ware's was way worse.

Woke up to see this quote from CB:

Paul George is indeed out of surgery & anyone who loves bkb should rest a little easy: I'm told everything went well. No new damage found.

Honestly this makes me feel better about everything for the guy. Haven't heard anything about career threatening, if anything everything is shooting that notion down. But Pacers Digest seems kind of nutty recently

Shock has worn off...so now what?

Do we free David West from what will be an average team to a contender for picks or young talent? Keep exploring that "quietly shopping Roy" thing? See if someone will take G. Hill? All or some of the above?

Or do we hang in there, keep the nucleus, and see what happens? PG will be back in 15-16, but I don't see him being anything resembling normal PG until late in 15-16 or 16-17. West, by then, will be at or close to run down. Hill very well may still be bad and Roy...well who knows? Hopefully Solo will have established a nice role by then, but we have very little young talent.

I really can't decide what I'd rather do, but I see option 2 being more realistic as to what will happen.

I'm leaning toward shopping Roy and West (heck no one is safe now as far as I'm concerned) to see what kind of young players/draft picks we can get.   I feel so bad for PG and I hate to say this, but this is franchise altering.  I hope I'm wrong, but even though there was not nerve, knee, or ligament damage I just can't see him being the same again.  I think the hard decision needs to be made here to start getting ready for the future beyond this group's.

For next season, if they think this Euro guy has a real future then they need to give him plenty of run.  Take the time to see what we have.  Play Solo a lot too to see if he is a guy we can build with.  I sure hope the Hoosiers are back on track this season.  During last year's nightmare the Pacers kept me sane.  I cant' count on that this year.

This is pretty much where I am as a fan. Doesn't feel like there are a ton of guys who are long term solutions at their positions on the roster outside of PG right now. I don't really expect much of anything from this Euro guy, maybe he is something and I'm just misinformed. But everything I have read is that he is a guy with great range and while able to do some other stuff, but defensively he isn't much, you know like Cope. I'm all for giving Solo a ton of run and actually featuring the dude in the offense some, extremely high on him. I think GH could surprise a lot of people with his now much increased role. Hibbert scares the heck out of me with an even more expanded role in the offense.

I'm probably looking forward to this season a lot, it will be interesting to say the least

I would like to point out that his attire (hiked up old man jeans tucked into a polo) is EXACTLY how I pictured him casually dressing.

Saw last night from Marc Stein where our most likely move is to sign Shawn Marion. That makes us a 1st round knockout. I'd rather be in the lotto.
