Absolutely, I'd always have a sword or knife on me in that situation

Agreed.  I'd for sure have guns, longer range and I'm more comfortable with a firearm, but ammo would have to be a necessary part of supply runs (I'd look for ammo on every run to build up a cache).

And a .454 Casull might be a nice gun, but feeding it would be a real problem. .22's are everywhere though.

Guns would be saved for other humans or if you're trapped by a large group of zombies with no other alternatives. Other than that I'd use knives/swords all day. Yeah food and ammo would be my main concerns on supply runs.

.22 wouldn't be a bad choice, really.  Light recoil and relatively quiet for a gun, and like you said ammo is so common.  Probably a .222 or something of the sort for a little more power.

EDIT:  And a well placed .22 is better than a poorly placed .45.

Agreed, although I would probably use blades on humans as well if the situation allowed to keep noise down.  Although I'd rather not harm humans unless it was absolutely necessary, safety in numbers and more people to spread the work load if they can be trusted to join.

Beth > Maggie.

Idk I'm about 30 mins in and it's not keep my attention like the real walking dead.

Finally, somebody sees the light

Combo of knives and swords/machetes would weapons of choice. I'm thinking like the machete from the Book of Eli. Quick and quiet but efficient enough to get the job done.

And a .22 is relatively quiet. That .454 Rick carries would reverberate for a couple of miles. Perfect when walkers are attracted to noise.

Yeah, I kind of covered that the .22 is fairly quiet.  A 1911 .45 would would stop a walker like a sack of potatoes, but like that .454 the sound would just be yelling "HEY!  HERE I AM!".

Actually, Rick carries a service sidearm .357 Colt Python.  Real nice gun, I've shot one, but you might as well set off a bomb.

How about the singing sword from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? :)  Also, Maggie >>>>>>>>> Beth any day.

If we go away from guns and a sword, wow, that would be tough. You would want something light but with a lot of reach. I would have to go with a bat.

Let's get creative, anyone have options that don't involve blades or guns?

My option, the Dragonzord.

Don't get me wrong, Maggie is smoking. But there's just something about those quiet, shy girls like Beth...anyway

A bat would definitely be up there. One of my buddies at work said he'd keep some log chain with him and try to knock them in the head with it. Not sure how well that would work out, also wouldn't be very quiet.
