Biggest Loss from Last season

Recommended Posts

I will say remembering those tournament games Oladipo was about the only consistent one.

Last year was almost perfect. We should have gone all the way. Little white Indiana boy that hit just about whatever he tossed up, big man by the basket, Oladipo with the monster jams (and the 3), good all-around players in Yogi and Watford, the best 6th man in the NCAA, Ellston a great #7 sub...

Woulda-coulda-shoulda. Man I miss this time last year.

I believe its actually a three way tie between victor, hulls, and watford! Victor because of his consistancy, hulls because of leadership, and watford because of his all around clutch performances... mainly against all of our most hated team UK!

I said Jordy as well but he most certainly did not play good defense.  Toward the end of last season Crean had to sub him out defense for offense.  Honestly couldn't justify having him on the floor defensively after a while.

People think of his on ball defense and extrapolate it to his defense in general.  There is a lot more to playing defense than just guarding the ball handler, and being a good defensive team involves more than getting 5 good on ball defenders.

Hulls's weakness on D was on ball, he was a good off ball defender and help defender.

Elston was far from a "great" #7 sub. Little white Indiana boy was hurt, and I think that hurt the team a lot. Yogi was so bad in March.

We could have won it all, but not for one second do I believe we should have.

I take Hulls, we have sort of (not really that close...yet) replaced Victor with Troy but he doesn't have close to the same work ethic.
Missing the 3 ball with Hulls and I think his leadership could persuade other players to work as much as he does which is needed with a young team.

Just curious how do you know Williams doesn't have the same work ethic?

If you follow him on Instagram/Twitter then he's usually doing everything but practicing when he didn't have to. One of the biggest factors about the value of Oladipo was his work ethic and I don't think Williams is close to it.

To be fair, Oladipo's work ethic was almost other-worldly. It would be hard to find anyone with his work ethic.

That said, I believe Troy Williams has a fine work ethic.

I know it's not likely he has the same work ethic I just don't like assuming he doesn't. From what I've read like you said Williams had a good work ethic.

First:

pre·science
ˈpreSH(ē)əns
noun
1.
the fact of knowing something before it takes place; foreknowledge.

What's all this about 3 point foresight?

Second:

I didn't think it was possible for people to undervalue Oladipo, but here we are.

Well, Hulls knew he was going to hit the  3 pointer before he shot it, so I guess she's right

But man, I can't even imagine what Farrell will be like as a senior in two years.[/quote]

Who said Yogi will be here for all 4 years?

Agreed. I give him one more. Could you imagine if he left after this year? I don't think he will and know that he shouldn't, but panic mode would be at an all time high. For good reason.

Not one person says Cody, really? Imagine for one second if we had both Cody and Noah down low, that would open everything up on the outside. What is better than a wide open jumper, getting those wide open jumpers all day everyday. I pick Zeller and he is my least favorite of the 3 players, but on the college level he IS a game changer.

Really? I've never seen Ferrell as an NBA player. I haven't heard any reports of him being on a draft board. A great college player, and will likely finish among top 10 of IU scorers after four years, but a little small for NBA level.

I agree that he's smaller than average, but his speed and shooting ability should help him. The guy can put the ball in the hoop and is athletic enough to be a servicable defender. I've always seen him as a 4 maybe 3 year player, then off to the league. Not saying he will be a superstar, but I think he'll play.

I've seen him pop up here and there. It's usually pick 58 or something like that.

And that's just for this year. I think he'll eventually be a late 1st rounder.

If momma's not happy then nobody is. As seen by her tweets, momma's not happy.

Yes. That was one unhappy momma. Do you mean you'll think he would leave after this year?
