Came across these guys yesterday courtesy of Underground Garage. A Norwegian husband and wife garage band. Nothing about that not awesome. It’s from a 2013 album called “All Dahled Up.” Love that name. Listened to it last night and it’s a really fun little disposable listen. One caveat: They have that Ramones thing where every song sounds vary much of a kind. So if you don’t like the 1st one you might as well just move on.

Yoko had the tape that made this possible.

Makes me remember a kind if cool moment for me. High school about ‘81. This girl in English class thinks she’s going to give me a hard time. She says she saw this weird guy on SNL that reminded her of me. She says - George Harrison.
I was like no way! Loved the Beatles back then and Harrison was always my favorite. Ruined her day- lol.

The 12 min documentary on the making of the song is worth watching.   It’s on Disney+

Something that y’all may have never heard that really cooks. Pulling from deeeep in the back of the bin for some outstanding bluezy rock. Because John Finley can really sing. The first song is taken over by Finley in the second verse—blast off. And it’s an all-time great album cover too.

I give you, Rhinoceros:

I've watched this about 30 times over the last month, keep forgetting to share it here. I'm not the biggest RHCP fan, they're one of those weird ones where I love their popular stuff, but just don't "get it" with their deep cuts. I am a huge Chad fan though and this video gives me chills every time I watch it. I can't imagine being this good at anything. (Killer song too, always loved the drum part)

If you haven't seen the movie Crossroads, the guitar duel is a classic.  Steve Vai played both guitar parts (both his and Ralph Macchio's).

Story is about a blues man who sold his soul to the devil and is trying to get it back.  Ralph Macchio is in a guitar contest with the devil's guitarist to try to win the soul back or lose his own.

Sounds like it's based partially on the Robert Johnson legend, sold his soul at the crossroads for musical talent.

Ry Cooder did a lot of the music for this - beyond fantastic

It is -- the blue character is supposed to have sold his soul alongside Robert Johnson to the devil.  He bribes Ralph Macchio -- who is a blue musician himself who is going to a classical music school -- to break him out of an old folk's home to go down South by telling him he will give him a missing song that Robert Johnson wrote if he does.

Okay, peoples, if we're doing a music thread, I'd like to introduce MY first recording. At the age of 73, I've decided to try to become the rock star I thought I should have been in my younger days. Share the video if you like it...at least you'll like the pants I'm wearing! And there's a link in the description to iTunes where you can own it for 99 cents...what else can you get for a buck these days? FYI, Lee Silver is NOT destined to be the next Weird Al. I have serious music I'm releasing after this one, this was just (hopefully) to get my name out there.

This may be the single most “unique“ post in the history of BtownBanners.

So here’s to incrediboy, for his "unique-ness"
