Yogi Ferrell was only a few weeks into his college career at Indiana. Already, the then-freshman point guard was tired of Will Sheehey.

The constant jabbering on the court. The hard bumps on defense. The brazen attitude. It was annoying, frustrating, and the final straw came after the 6-footer called a foul in open gym that summer.

Sheehey, a 6-7 forward, scoffed at the call and chucked the ball at him. Size difference or not, Ferrell had had enough. He rushed up to Sheehey, got in his face and the two started to square up.

No punches were thrown, but like many opponents before and after, Ferrell had boiled over.

He was a five-star player and the headliner of The Movement, the recruiting class that would bring IU back to the pinnacle of college hoops.

Just watched the Washington post-gamer. Coach said he gave one of the timeouts to Will. They needed to work on transition. How many players ever get the timeout to be the coach?

Awesome stuff. I also wonder if Crean doesn't have an alternative motive of helping Will land a job in coaching by some of bid comments lately. Crean is smart, I think some of this is to get Will the coaching exposure.

I would imagine that's part of it. Didn't Will have Ivy league offers, or am I thinking of someone else? Regardless, I think he'll have a longer future as a coach than as a player. Coach has been saying these things for at least a year now.

Exactly. I think he will be a great coach. Will be interesting to see how players handle Will's style. You can get away with that as a player, not as much as a coach.

Bob Knight lasted pretty long with that style. hell, he made Will look like a choir boy!   ;)
