I totally get that analogy - and he's right. Not everyone views Indiana as the only place to go. Can't just accept a verbal and then forget about the kid, especially if you're recruiting others at his position. Because the commitment is just that - verbal. If there's one thing the 2014 recruiting class taught us, it's that verbal commitments don't mean a thing. 

 

That said, it's hard to keep a kid happier to play backup minutes at IU than to start somewhere else. Especially when he's already 3rd on the depth chart, you're adding another star guard recruit, and talking about adding ANOTHER...

So have I. I think the biggest problem as far as RJ goes is if we get Lyle. That adds three backcourt freshman, although I think RJ is a 4 year type of guy so I'm not too worried.

Well, if JL commits it won't be before next week, imo. He's headed to WVU today with a teammate from HP. The kid wants to play the recruiting game. I just looked at the Crystal Ball it's up to 72% IU but I wouldn't doubt he'll say something really nice about Huggins and there will be guys shifting to WVU. I just don't think he's anywhere near being a done deal. Not saying he won't end up at IU, just that I don't get the feeling he's ready to commit anytime soon. I think he said spring anyhow.

Pretty sure he's made it clear he's a spring commit. I'm happy with where we are now. RJ and JBJ give us a heck of a backcourt going forward.

man. that would be so freakin awesome. That kid is incredible. He's MCW but less raw, better attitude (from what I can tell), MORE athletic, can draw the foul and finish, AND he's a knockdown shooter. Man.
