Very interesting. This makes sense, but Mo has already came out saying they aren't going after any OF's.

Here's the article. Maybe he has realized we need to upgrade our poor offense and is going to get an outfielder despite his earlier comments. Maybe he's is going to try and put a trade together involving Adams and ... We both know they need another bat or two.

Will be curious to see what order falls at 2-5 now.

Wainright

Martinez

Leake

Wacha

Garcia

I think Waino is for sure the number 1, and Garcia 5th. 2-4 can go either way. I think Wacha is the preferred 2 man, but with his inconsistency/injuries last season, don't know if he will get the nod. Very, very good pitching staff when healthy!

Matt Holliday was scratched from the game with lower back tightness.  He was penciled at 1B before being taken out.  Cardinals really need to have something in place because I just don't have confidence in Holliday this season.  He's a great bat, but his injuries are becoming more frequent with his age.

IMO, Cards need to trade Adams or Moss to get a stud 1B or OF.  I really like our team, but worry about our health again.  Pitching staff is one of the best, but has to stay  healthy because all dealt with injuries last year.

Garcia is way better than Leake, IMO.

I agree, but I don't see them putting Garcia anything higher than 4th just because he gets injured every year.  When he's healthy, he's a #2 or 3 starter easily, just has to prove he can stay healthy.

Im a Reds fan and have seen plenty of Leake. I was surprised the Cards landed him. Too inconsistent for my taste.

Hope the Cards can help get that corrected.  They really helped save some pitchers when they got here (granted, that was under Duncan as pitching coach), so we will see.  I think this move was more for an innings eater and durable guy.
