This is the first game of the Coconut Hoops event for the IU women who will then face either Iowa State or Marquette on Sunday.  Gonzaga (3-3) is ranked 20th in the nation on 3-point shooting at 38.5%.  They're also a strong rebounding team with a +8/game margin.

Unless IU Ladies win this game this would be a horrible loss equal to pre big ten season losses of last year.

Get Makalusky to rebound and hit a couple shots…more aggressive without fouling….but not overly concerned about her fouling.

Curious what the obsession is with Makalusky? She’s a freshman feeling things out. You seem to focus so much on her. She’s like 6-8 “man” in the rotation. She’ll likely eventually be a key piece.

Makalusky with six rebounds in 20 minutes? Been wondering about her on court intensity—that’s a really really good sign. If she can rebound and defend the shooting will come around for sure.

To answer your question….It’s actually a focus on this particular IU Ladies team.  They will be a different team in a  positive way once M&M averages a near double-double (8 to 10 points and 6 or 7+ rebounds) per game that she is capable of doing in the not to distant future as a freshman.
