ESPN computer picks IU as 7th best in the B1G, behind OSU, PSU, Oregon, USC, UM, and Nebraska. A fair assessment given that these are all top 25 teams (IU is rated 31st). Time to blast through much higher expectations this time.

Of note; the computer model has Purdump with odds and a projected win total that is in ... ahem... a B1G class of their own. Overall rated worse than such powerhouses as Georgia Southern, Texas State, South Alabama, and Georgia State.

The Vegas Insider website gives Minnesota Duluth a greater chance of winning the B1G title this season than Purdump. (IUFB with the sixth best chance):

2 months from now on 8/30/2025 our beloved Hoosiers will kickoff the 2025 season against Old Dominion. The Monarchs are coached by Ricky Rahne, Virginia-based, compete in the Sun Belt, and is a rival to James Madison. Coach Cig faced Coach Rahne twice in 2022 and 2023.

A lot of the JMU transfers are familiar with ODU and QB transfer Grant Wilson is extremely familiar being that he came over from ODU. Wilson ended being the back up to Colton Joseph. Joseph is a runner and ODU in general are a running team. ODU is a team that has a good core coming back, especially at the LB position.

Since there is familiarity between the coaching staffs, this game might be closer than the current spread (IUFB -23.5).

Former IU player personnel director Dwike Wilson is ODU's CB coach now also.
