Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 Finding any game stats for GiGi is really hit and miss. I can let you know that her team is 9-0 on the season. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 21, 2025 Author Posted December 21, 2025 GiGi's team is 12-0 on the season and only 2 of the wins have been by 22 pts. or less. I've been able to watch 5 of the 12 games and GiGi played roughly just 22 min. in each of those games. For the 5 games she's averaging 17.6p, 5.6r, 3.0a, .7s, 0b, .7t. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 66-31 win. She played 20 min. Landed awkwardly 2 min. into the 4th and did not return. Spent rest of game walking up and down behind the bench limping slightly. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 DME Academy defeated Royal Crown (Canada) 56-48. On my scorecard: 10p, 8r, 3a, 3s, 0b, 3t. In the games I've watched, 3-point shooting hasn't been a strong point of her game, but she is not at all afraid to take it to the basket and mix it up underneath for rebounds. She's also their secondary ball handler if they can't inbound the ball to their point guard. DME is a part of the Grind Session. From its website: Grind Session is the first-ever winter circuit of elite high school basketball events. In past seasons, our teams have played in some of the greatest and most unique cities across the U.S., as well as Canada, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. From November to March over 400 action-packed games will be played. Grind Session is more than just great games: it's an opportunity to prepare for the next chapter of your basketball career. Games consist of 9-minute quarters and a 24-second shot clock. IMO, they are every bit as physical as what we routinely see in B1G play so it shouldn't be hard for GiGi to adapt. In addition to DME (GiGi and Ryan Hampton) other teams of interest to us are: Academy of Central Florida (Martay Barnes) and Bella Vista (Vaughan Karvala). Quote

They claim they offer a good education. I hope that's right. Edited January 20 by NatHillIV answered my own question Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 DME girls had 2 games in this weekend's Grind Session in Cleveland. Friday night they suffered just their second loss of the season 65-55 to Ft. Erie (Canada). I scored GiGi with 16p, 3r, 2s, 3t. 5-10 FG, 0-2 on 3s, 6-9 FT. In Saturday's game they played the Example Academy Varsity team which is kinda sorta like if your local high school varsity played an opponent's B team. Most of the prep schools field a national team which is their elite squad and a varsity squad which is the not-so-elite squad. DME won 74-28 and I don't think GiGi played 15 minutes but still scored 10p and had 4r. It is a treat to hear the announcer's repeatedly mention that GiGi will attend IU and that she's considered among the best players on the Grind Session circuit. There's still no valid confirmation that GiGi's teammate Sara Okeke has an IU offer but sounds like she's been told if she wants to come to IU, there's a roster spot for her. She's not polished but there's definitely potential even to my untrained eye. In the Friday loss, she had 21p, 7r, 2s, 2b, 1t. 9-14 FG, 3-4 FT. In 74-28 rout she had 17p and 6r.
