cthomas Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Bottom line on all of this is to let Cignetti run the program. IU played against, and won against, teams with superior rosters on paper. We have already seen an influx of better talent entering into year 3. I'm perfectly content to let Coach Cig work his magic with what he has at his disposal. rayl456, Stuhoo, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 4 Quote

I'd say most everyone trusts him with the keys to the team and are optimistic about what he and the staff can do with the roster However, in the off-season, we have nothing better to do than over-analyze from the couch. I don’t care if some school has a higher rated high school class than us… did they just go 16-0? And we can’t discount our big portal haul that’s technically very highly ranked. To be clear, I think analyzing the program is perfectly fine and interesting. I just can’t see much reason to get overly concerned about stuff like high school recruiting rankings. Home Jersey Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Curt Cignetti could quite literally show up to Memorial Stadium with a team full of Kroger employees who push shopping carts all day and I'd like our chances against most schools. Quote

And you also have to consider what landing Sales would do for the program. We become a legitimate destination for these prospects moving forward and maybe even flip a few commitments. We’re already a legitimate destination as we just won the national championship. And I think our transfer portal haul shows that. Just because we aren’t willing to pay up for freshmen doesn’t mean kids wouldn’t be willing to come here if we did. Pagoda 1 Quote
