Class of '66 Old Fart

IUWBB @ Oregon - Friday, 01.24.25 @ 9:00 ET on B1G+

Recommended Posts

Coming off 2 consecutive losses, women face a 2-game west coast road trip.  First up is Oregon (14-5) (5-3) and 12-1 at home.  They average 71 ppg with an average margin of 11 over their opponents.   Not a good 3-point shooting team at just 29% .  Their leading scorer is Deja Kelly at 11 ppg.  They run at lot of different players at you as Kelly averages 31 min/game and the next highest is Peyton Scott at 24 min./game.  By comparison we have 4 girls that average 30+ min./gm.

USC won over IU Ladies overcoming a good challenge by IU Ladies and maybe overcoming a little bit of jet lag playing game at 9:00am per P.T. (similar to UCLA)

Now, IU Ladies are facing same challenges regarding time and travel.  Looking for minimal effect and good competitive play win or lose plus good, clean, competent officiating.  Couple wins needed along with returning Nebraska home win.

Ducks have missed their first 8 shots, but we're only up 4-0 and currently doing our patented several minute scoring drought.

Lazy horrible passes smh come on

Almost forgot this is kind of a homecoming game for Syd tonight. I’m sure she’s wanting to show well. Really need to get more from Ciezki the last few games. She should be our sharp shooter.

I’m baffled at why there’s never any action for her to shoot 3s anymore, ever. That is all she did at penn state and among the big ten leaders. Garzon isn’t into this game at all, so hot and cold game to game. This team needs about a month straight of wet ball drills just so careless with passes and catching. Hope they can hang on it would be a needed win

It’s like they spent the week watching film of the men’s team gosh. Tonight’s not Garzons night at all I wish Teri would try someone else. Huge drop off when meister in is in the game.

We only go 7 deep. Not a lot of options to “try.” One negative mark on Moren’s teams historically is depth.

Yeah but when you can’t catch the ball, make a shot, or complete a pass I think I’d try someone else. They just completely blew this game.

Oregon Ladies tried but could not play worse than Indiana Ladies in second half.

Indiana Ladies NIT bid, maybe.  May win a game or two in NIT….if they get a bid by the end of the season.

The big ten is toughhh this year. And we just lost a generational player and the best 3-pt shooter in the country. Always going to be a rebuilding year. But I have concerns going forward because our recruiting hasn’t taken the next step. We will lose CMM and Syd this year and have not developed young women to replace them. Hopefully CTM hits the portal. And we need to start bringing in better classes or we’re going to fall back to a middle of the pack conference team even though we have a strong coaching staff.
