Women really put it to Maine yesterday and hopefully that quality of play will carry forward.  Southern Indiana's (7-1) only loss was 75-51 to Louisville

Pre-game radio CTM said Syd likely miss couple of more games.  No timetable at all on Lenee.  Surgery has yet to be scheduled and then an unknown period of time for rehab.

Debatable or no not, this is one of those must win games preferably a very solid win with the current active IU Ladies that will play tonight.

Good for the IU Ladies that Jules L. continues to come along plus physical, pretty coordinated and can shoot the ball.  Athletic.

Hoosiers with a quick start and then poof!   Ended the quarter on a 4+ minute drought and USI made it's last 7-9 shots and it's tied 17-17 after 1Q.  6 TOs in the quarter didn't help.

USI on a 20-5 run and lead 26-19 with 7 min. left to halftime.

We're now under 30% FG shooting for the game and just 2-12 in the 2nd Q.  Trail 33-24 with just over 3 min. left in the 2nd Q

USI is 82 in the NET rankings, placing them ahead of Rutgers, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Purdue. 

 

I know Syd being out doesn't help, but I still can't believe how bad we are offensively.

USI leading 42-29 at halftime and the odor in SSAH is getting pretty bad.  Hoosiers just 31% FG;  27% on 3s;  5-10 FT (Lexi 1-6).  Yarden just 2-8 FG and Jules 1-7.   Meanwhile, USI is 57% FG and 75% on 3s (6-8).

We'll probably win some games against teams better than this, but this is starting to feel like a lost season.

IU Ladies getting out played physically.  Screaming Eagles executing what they want and knocking IU Ladies off balance.

Screaming Eagles moved up to division one last year and would have went to March Madness but are not eligible until year three.  17-1 conference record 2023-24.  Screaming Eagles did go to NIT and lost in second game to Wisconsin.

Seems like flirting with the injury bug because we only ever go 6 or 7 deep is finally biting us in the butt. My fears that we didnt use our team success to land talent the past few years is looking very real. Losing CMM and Syd this year we might be missing our opportunity and headed back to being irrelevant. Hope we hit the portal hard.
