I sure would like to have seen the Columbia and Baylor games.

Maybe it's fatigue. Maybe it's not having Syd (thought she's not a huge offensive contributor anyway).

Not sure what it is. But the effort is just nonexistent today. We're not just a step slow -- we're 2-3 steps slow in everything we do.

Not an excuse because we got smoked, but three games in three days is big for this IU team. CTM’s teams are historically thin on depth. We basically play five players 35-38 mins a game. They look gassed. No Syd. Already a transition year after the Holmes era. Just a bad recipe.

Played their third game in three days - this time against a top 20 team and without one of their few top players. The first sub at that position is already out (is Beaumont's injury a long-term/whole season thing?)

Completely ran out of gas - it happens. This team is not a championship contender but it's an above average B1G team.

Just not the caliber of team we've had in the past.  Hoping we can make the tournament with this squad.  NIT might be where we are headed.

We beat Stanford, Baylor and Haaaaaaaaarvard doesn’t seem like a bad loss. We’re going to the tournament just don’t expect a sweet sixteen.

That was one embarrassing and horrible loss (& it came after the Harvard & Butler losses), particularly for a team with national aspirations. Maya Makalusky & Nevaeh Caffey cannot arrive soon enough.

BTW: I for one would like to see what Currie-Jelks can do with more playing time. Was she late for practice or something? Given how the other "bigs" can absolutely disappear in a game and get run over, it seems like CTM would be willing to challenge Sharneece to go out there and give it a try.

The way things look now, it may be a long season, in a downright tough Big 10.

To me Currie-Jelks looks a step slow when she plays. She's also kinda undersized for a big; 6'1 and having had ACL surgery. The coaching staff sees her in practice every single day --I'm going to go with their take on her ability to function.

Also, what about Faith Wiseman? She had great numbers in HS, and in the Indiana-Ky All-Star game, played great defense. How come she also seems to be a "3-years, then maybe she will play a little" project, and is glued to the bench? Grace Berger & Mackenzie Holmes played as freshman. Look at other players, like Kate Koval, Syla Swords, Hannah Hidalgo, even Elina Aarnisalo (at UCLA), Kayleigh Heckel at SoCal has that potential --they all have come charging out of the gates as freshmen.

Why do other teams get these "immediate impact" recruits, and IU has "she might be good some day, maybe, if she develops" recruits?

I am hoping Maya Makalusky & Nevaeh Caffey can come charging out of the gates. (also, a player is never going to develop, if they are permanently glued to the bench)
