Demo Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Looks like he might be an ok athlete. The play at :23 where he mis-times his jump on a put back so just floats for a count and then dunks it is a littler better than average. Wow cybergates 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 23, 2023 Author Posted November 23, 2023 After attending Oak Ridge HS in Orlando in 21-22 he transferred to IMG for 22-23 but transferred back to Oak Ridge for 23-24. APOPKA — It didn’t take long for Jamier Jones to make his presence felt for highly-touted Orlando boys basketball power Oak Ridge. The 6-foot-6 transfer from IMG Academy scored 30 points — all in the final three quarters — in his official debut on Wednesday night as the Pioneers opened their regular season with an 85-64 win against a game Windermere Prep team in the Earl Graham Memorial Metro vs. Florida Challenge at Apopka High School. The Pioneers are ranked top 20 in multiple national polls but trailed the Lakers for most of the first half and led by a slim 31-27 margin at the break. Everything changed when Jones went into attack mode against a defense anchored by 7-foot sophomore center Sinan Huan. Jones refused to be stopped on aggressive drives for dunks. “This was my coach [Steve Reece] and my teammates trusting in me and letting me go,” Jones said afterward. Jones is ranked as high as No. 13 among junior class prospects (by ESPN). Demo 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 26, 2023 Author Posted November 26, 2023 Travis Branham on Holiday Hoopsgiving - Jamier Jones has long been considered one of the best prospects in the 2025 class but over the last six months he's been turning the corner into becoming a consistent player on the court. Jones is a strong bodied wing with explosive athleticism and while he isn't the most skilled he can make a major impact with his activity off the ball as a cutter and downhill slasher with an improved motor. He continued to do those things on Saturday and despite the 21 point loss he tallied 20 points, shooting 9-of-12 from the field. Jones still isn't a finished product as he can become one of the best defenders in the country and can be a very impactful rebounder. He's garnering more and more high major interest and by buying in on both ends of the floor and being more assertive on the glass he will continue to elevate his stock. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 Oak Ridge (8-2) 60-56 win over Vashon (4-3) in the Iolani Classic. Jones 12p and 5r IMO the Oak Ridge team played undisciplined basketball. Too often it seemed that whoever brought the ball across midcourt either jacked up a 3 or tried to make an uncontrolled drive to the basket. Until the 4th Q, Jones rarely was a part of Oak Ridge offense. Quote
