Listed as 6'4" and also plays volleyball.  For the geographically challenged, Wasilla is located about 40 miles northeast of Anchorage.  This past season she was named to the Class 4A all-state first team.

Tina Fey says that in Wasilla, you can see Russia from your house!  (*ducks*)

just for the geographically challenged, Alaska is a big place and Wasilla is a bit far for me to provide a scouting report. As always, i will do the best i can:103:.

Stu- suck it!

How about instead of "doing the best you can" you do the best that someone else can?

Amirite?

My 2 cents worth…Don’t know what anyone is talking about.

I do know that IU Ladies basketball (and mens as well) are not in the small handful of teams that straight out of high school (bunches of 5 star 95 and higher) run to though IU Ladies have several 5 star players on the team.

The one and only game story I've found for her this entire season.

Alaska high school basketball’s historic winning streak came to a crashing halt Friday night in Wasilla, where the Warriors posted a 47-32 wire-to-wire win over Mountain City Christian Academy.

Wasilla scored 14 of the game’s first 15 points and maintained a double-figure lead for the final three quarters to snap MCCA’s 133-game, six-year winning streak against in-state competition.

Alaska player-of-the-year favorite Layla Hays of Wasilla recorded 15 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots. The 6-foot-5 first-team all-state junior forward dominated the paint and helped slow down a Lions team that has run roughshod over Alaska since 2018, winning six straight state championships – four at the Class 3A level and the last two since moving to Class 4A.

Before Friday, MCCA, formerly known as ACS, hadn’t lost to an Alaska team since Feb. 9, 2018, when the Lions fell 55-33 at Wasilla.

At 6’4” or 6’5” wants family atmosphere plus Indiana winter weather 94 per ESPN player profile and in great hands with players, T. Moren and staff leaving not to much to think about.  IU Ladies!

On campus as we speak. She is tall and coordinated; can't teach 6'5". Her mom played for Bluder for two years; it likely helps quite a bit that Bluder retired, that we have the national team coach, and that Coach Brett develops bigs brilliantly and is still at IU.

I'm usually not that into comps, but with little question whatsoever, young Ms. Hays and the staff are spending every waking moment watching Mackenzie Holmes "frozen Maine to Bloomington to 1st team All-American" highlight videos.

She has been on campus this weekend.  Is she still on campus today (Monday)?  Is T. Moren going to kidnap her?
With Wiseman and others coming in this player would be really significant not only at center which that’s where she likes and is going to play but allowing players like Wiseman and others flexibility on wing/forward.
