Well, this sucks. The weather system that's causing the huge tornado outbreak in Iowa and Illinois today is going to be over Pennsylvania tomorrow. Hope we can get at least 2 games in this weekend.

Its going to be more scattered there and weaker and later in day. I think in end they get one game in tomorrow before storms hit and then a doubleheader Sunday when it will be dry but chilly. I think they get all three games in.

What time do you think the flight home is though?

Well, we won't go undefeated in conference play as we got beat 7-2 today in game 1.  Risedorph allowed 3 more runs on 5 hits and was replaced by Vega in the 7th.  We managed 8 hits but left 10 on base.  Tibbitts ended up 4-4 and got both of our RBIs.

Penn State relief pitcher took over in the 6th; faced 18 batters only allowed 2 hits and struck out 10.

Game #2 should start around 2:15.   Weather system might move into the area around 4:00.

Today showed the potential risk for IU of having one decent starter that you have to piece together the rest of the weekend. PSU did the bold but potentially very smart thing of throwing both their good starters for basically half the game. Might be high scoring for rest of weekend which by the way is now in a rain delay. Doubleheader may be tomorrow.

Won the first game 4-1. Second game will start at 2:00.

We only had 5 hits but aided by 5 BB and 2 HBP.  We left 7 on base.  No single player for us with more than 1 hit.  Tibbitts 2-RBI.  We scored 1 in the 1st and 3 in the 2nd.  Manase started and went 3.2 innings giving up 3 hits and PSU's lone run.  Kraft took over and pitched the rest of the way allowing just 1 hit, 2 BB .

After 2 complete in game #2 we have a 1-0 lead.  Hayden on the mound for our Hoosiers.

6-4 PSU leads after 3 complete in today's 2nd game.

After we scored 1 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd, the bottom fell out for us in the PSU 3rd and they've taken a 6-4 lead.    Hayden lasted into the 3rd allowing 2 runs on 3 hits -- but one of them being a 2-run HR.  He was pulled for Levy and he couldn't get a single out.  He faced 4 batters and gave up 4  hits -- one of them another PSU 2-run HR and was responsible for PSU scoring 4 runs.  Yoho came on and got us out of the inning with no further damage.

Final score:  22-11

Hitter's day; pitching was optional as our Hoosiers had 18 hits and PSU had 14.  Pyne went 4-6 and 6 IU batters had 2 hits each.  Taylor and Cerny each 4 RBI; Pyne 3 and Mathison and Serruto each 2.   We used 6 pitchers.  Yoho ended up with the "W" and Burton the Save.

Tuesday evening we're in Terre Haute to play the Sycamores.  Next weekend we host Iowa.
