Let's hope this game isn't nearly as heart pounding as the earlier game at West Laffy.

NOTES

  • A 14-0 run in the final 4:42 of play helped lift the Hoosier to victory over Minnesota on Thursday night, 80-70. Senior forward Aleksa Gulbe set a new career-high 28 points by going 11-for-15 from the floor and 4-for-4 at the 3-point line to pace her team.
  • The Hoosiers will meet its in-state rival for the second time this season, coming off a 73-68 overtime win at Mackey Arena on Jan. 16. The win kept Indiana with the Barn Burner Trophy for the sixth-consecutive season. In a series the Hoosiers have owned as of late, the win marked the ninth win in 10 outings against Purdue and have won the last seven meetings at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall dating back to 2013.
  • Indiana remained in the top 10 in both national polls in Week 13. They came in at 5 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 6 in the USA Today/WBCA coaches top 25. Their streak in the AP Top 25 stretches to 50 consecutive weeks and 38 consecutive weeks in the coaches poll.
  • Defense continues to be the name of the game for the Hoosiers, who hold teams to 58.2 points per game this season, which rank second in the Big Ten. No opponent has scored over 70 points this season and have defeated three Big Ten foes by 20 points or more.

ESPN probably doesn't use its A-squad to cover women's basketball games, but this was just lazy reporting in the game preview:

"The Boilermakers score 71.7 points per game, more than the 58.8 Indiana allows. When Purdue gets to the 59-point mark, it is 7-0 on the year."

We beat them 73-68 last time. They've also won more than 7 games when scoring over 59.

Then there was this:

"Indiana heads into the game putting up 71.9 points per game, 2.9 more than the 69 Purdue allows per contest. The Hoosiers are 6-0 in games where they score over 69 points."

Did they just copy and paste from the preview 3 weeks ago?
