Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Since I'm (just barely) on a 2-game winning streak starting IUWBB game threads, I'll try my luck again. Buckeyes (15-9) (8-5) are on a 4-game winning streak and we've not played our best ball the last couple of games. That kind of effort won't get us a 'W' tomorrow. Need all hands on deck and a lot more bench help than we got at Illinois. Tomorrow's game is National Girl and Women in Sports Day / Alumni Day. No. 20 Indiana returns home to host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff for National Girls and Women in Sports Day is at 2 p.m. ET. NO. 20/23 INDIANA (20-6, 10-4 B1G) VS. OHIO STATE (15-9, 8-5 B1G) Sunday, February 16, 2020 • 2 p.m. ET Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall • Bloomington, Ind. Sophomore forward Dorka Juhasz leads the way with 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Buckeyes this season. Freshman Kierstan Bell is also in double figures with 11.3 points per game. OSU is averaging 72.2 points per game and shooting 43.7 percent from the floor. SERIES HISTORY Ohio State leads 58-21 LAST MEETING 1/10/19 – L, 50-55 (Columbus, Ohio) NOTES The Hoosiers return home after a pair of road wins last week at Nebraska and Illinois. IU's 59-54 win at Illinois on Thursday night marked win number 20 for the program this season. It's the fastest to 20 wins in a season in school history and the fifth-straight 20-win season under sixth year head coach Teri Moren. Redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg paced Indiana in scoring for the 13th time against the Illini with 17 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Sophomore forward Aleksa Gulbe went 7-for-9 from the field for 15 points. Two Hoosiers are finalist for national awards announced recently. Senior forward Brenna Wise is a Top 10 finalist for the Senior CLASS Award while Patberg is a Top 10 finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which honors the nation's top point guard. Ohio State has won the last 13 games in the series, dating back to 2010. Sunday's matchup is the only meeting between the two schools this season. UP NEXT Indiana will get a six-day break before traveling to Minnesota on Saturday, February 22. Tipoff at The Barn is set for 6 p.m. ET on BTN+. JerryYeagley23 and mamasa 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 16, 2020 Author Posted February 16, 2020 We have lost 13 straight games to the Buckeyes! That ends today. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 16, 2020 Author Posted February 16, 2020 Hoosiers leading 20-19 at the end of the 1st Q. Points: Gulbe 5; Berger 4 Our top 7 players have all scored at least 2 points so we’ve already gotten more bench production than we did the entire Illinois game. Rebounds: Patberg 2; Gulbe 2; Penn 2; Berger 2 Assists: Patberg 4 A pleasant change that we only have 2 TO. OSU relies on 3-point shooting and in the first quarter they were 4-7. Quote

JerryYeagley23 Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Penn and Berger have not been shooting the ball very well the last couple games. I think heavy legs are maybe a factor. Thank goodness for Patberg’s motor. mamasa and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

JerryYeagley23 Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Starting to become a commonly recurring theme IU running out of steam and getting no contributions from our bench. Not a lot that can be done about it this far into the season so just gotta roll with it and hope they can get some rest before the tourney and be able to ride the starters for two games a weekend.
