Bracketology and Team Resumes

Recommended Posts

Ius final numbers

https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2025/team-net-sheet?team=Indiana

10 of the 13 losses are to tourney teams with the other 3 losses on the road to top 63 teams

O losses in Q2-Q4

Q1a win @Sparty.  Projected 2 seed

Q1 wins home against Purdue

IU only has 2 wins against the projected field which is a negative however I feel this resume should be good enough for last 4 in

IKR!!!! Now just need Memphis to take care of business

Memphis could still win and they could still get left out.   Or they could lose and IU could still make it.   No one knows what the committee will find important when separating the last couple teams

Happy Selection Sunday to all the hoops junkies out there.   Its like Christmas day at the USPS household.  Its also a sad day as well because it means its the beginning of the end for the college basketball season.   Thanks to everyone that has participated in the college basketball thread all year.  We have had some great nights following this great sport in there.   My time to do deep dives into bracketology have taken a back seat to my own kids sporting events and school activities however i still love to do it with the limited time i now spend on it.   You have to spend an incredible amount of time on this hobby to really get good at making a full bracket.  Its just not about selection of the teams its about properly seeding and projecting the regions teams will end up in using the committee bracketing principles and geography principles.   I am only going to project the teams and not worry about the others

1 seed- Auburn, Duke, Houston, Florida

Auburn has had the overall seed wrapped up for awhile now 16 Q1 wins is insane.   Duke played in a down ACC and didnt get the opportunities.  Florida should be higher but think the will end up the 4th 1 seed

2.  Tennessee, Bama, Sparty, St Johns

SEC having 4 teams in the top is crazy   you could flip flop Bama and Tennessee if you want

3. Texas Tech, A&M, Kentucky, Iowa St

First year head coach has Kentucky in position for a 3 seed in year 1 despite injuries  props to him

4    Wisky, Zona, Maryland, Michigan   B1G teams are going to give bracketologist fits trying to deal with the bracketing principles within the conference teams being this close on the seed list

5 Purdue, Oregon, Ole Miss, Clemson

6 Missouri, BYU, Louisville, UCLA

what Kelsey done in year 1 is impressive   Turnaround can happen with the right hire

7 Illinois, St Marys, Marquette, Zags

8 Kansas, Miss st, Memphis, Creighton

9 Uconn, New Mexico, Utah St, Georgia

10 Drake, Arkansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia

11 Baylor,  (San Diego St, IU)(Vandy, Xavier) UC SAN DIEGO

Vandy non con sos is 330  i hope they put them in the First 4

12. , VCU, COLORADO ST, McNEESE ST, Liberty

13 ,High Point, Akron, Yale, Troy

14  Lipscomb, Grand Canyon, UNCW, Wofford

15 Montana, Omaha, Robert Morris, Bryant

16  Norfolk St, SIU Edwardsville, (American    ,Mt St Marys  ,Alabama St , St Francis)

if Memphis loses take Xavier out

First 3 out

Texas

Boise st

UNC

i might change some things if i have time but this is how i see it going today but wont be surprised at any of the 3 first out being selected     Enjoy the games and selection sunday

I don't know why every person on this site hasn't liked or gave thanks to this post?  I LOVE college basketball, or so I thought, until I found USPS and Johnson here! Maybe they have differing reasons that make them love the sport, but I digress. It takes a lot of time to do what they do on this thread!  Thank both of you and all the other degenerates that I see in here during the season!

Sadly, I'm looking forward to the gif USPS will post tomorrow! Very bittersweet, but also part of life!  Looking forward to the future of IU basketball!

Lastly, enjoy Dayton this week USPS!

Meant this for the college hoops thread, but anyway!

The Q1 records tip it in favor of Texas for me

Yeah but they are only 12-15 vs the top 3 Quads.  7 wins vs Q4.   That’s a lot of losses.  No team has been left out with 7 or more Q1 wins and no team has made it with more than being 1 game under .500 vs the top 3 Quads.  Their non conference sos is 287

IUs finished 168
