Crimson and Cream Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 The Splendid Splinter, a legend at all three levels of my basketball fandom, has passed. https://www.nba.com/pacers/news/statement-passing-jimmy-rayl mamasa, HoosierHoops1, mdn82 and 2 others 2 1 2 Quote
moyemayhem Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Jimmy Rayl was a Hoosier legend. Won Mr. Basketball out of Kokomo and could shoot from anywhere in the gym. He almost averaged 30 a game his junior year in Bloomington. Still holds the all time single game scoring record at IU with 56... and he actually did it twice. My grandpa was friends with him, and my dad witnessed him shooting in his backyard in his mid-late 40's and he said he was still draining shots like they were nothing. To think that he accomplished all that he did without a 3 point line is unreal. Alford Bailey, moyemayhem, Stuhoo and 2 others 5 Quote
