I just read this, when I got to the punchline(for lack of a better term) it hit me like a ton of bricks. A truly amazing story with a happy ending.

Great story. About halfway through, I started to wonder about something ... and it turned out to be true. 

Such a bizarre, true story -- it would take quite an imagination just to make that up!
