Although we offered back in July, doesn't appear there's a great deal of interest in us from Love.

Although it doesn't appear he has much interest in IU, he does hold an offer, so I'll keep posting his numbers as I find them.

Nice performance from Caleb Love (@caleb2love) who put up 24 points in @cbc_hoops 59-47 victory over John Burroughs.

CBC (6-2) defeated Chaminade 85-75.  Love 25 pts. and 5 reb.

Belleville West (10-0) and E. J. Liddell (O$U recruit) defeated Caleb Love and CBC (6-4).  Love finished with 18 points, two rebounds, three assists and a block.

EJ Liddell scored 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds, handed out three assists and had three blocks.

That OSU class is great. Appears they will be contenders going forward. And like Archie, Holtman knows basketball.

I was at the game. Love was not what I expected at all.  He’s got great size and length for a PG. Probably a full 6’3” with really long arms. Terrific athlete. Elite lateral movement. When he pressured ball handlers he was able to lock them up. The block was the play of the night. Came from maybe 15’ away on the weak side to block what looked like an uncontested layup from behind. Awesome play. But his effort was not at all consistent. He let lesser players outwork him on several occasions. But, defensively, he’s got elite traits.

Offensively, it was kind of eye-opening. Was told he wasn’t much of a shooter, and that’s true. Shot 1-5 from 3, all good looks, and none of the misses were close. 1 airball and 2 barely got rim. Form isn’t terrible, but his release point is all over the place. The surprise was the way he was used. He played off the ball the entire night. He never ran point in the half court. Not once. He created nothing for anyone else. His couple of assists were just reversals for open jumpers. And for the first 2 1/2 quarters, he didn’t do much. Just settled for jumpers that he wasn’t making. Started attacking late and was a handful when he did. Scored 11 in the 4th, all on finishes at the rim and fouls created. He could’ve done it all night. 

He was a frustrating player to watch. A blind guy sees his talent, but he played in spurts. And when he wasn’t playing hard, he wasn’t contributing at all. But his good stuff is REALLY good.  Looking forward to watching him again. 

Btw: Damn, Liddell’s good. A lot like Juwan was in HS, but a better athlete and just a little better at everything. Love him. Will be shocked if he’s not in Holtmann’s rotation from the jump next year.

@jakeweingarten: Indiana will have staff in today for 2020 five-star Caleb Love, a source told Stockrisers. He’s unofficially visited IU, has become a top-target.

Not sure who I’m excited about for 2020 yet. Morton maybe. Curious to see if love plays to his 5 star rating.

Not too high on this one. Would rather pick up Morton for 2020. Then go hard after Lander for 2021. We will have RP and AD. Morton plays PG also but is a better shooter than Love and he could also play the 2guard.

Baumgart - Currently ranked 34th in 2020, 6-3 point guard Caleb Love is a shifty, slashing playmaker out of St. Louis. Great in transition, gets to the paint and scores well at the rim. Love was ranked 142nd on 6/11/2018, so he's blown up the last five-six months.

CBC (10-5) beat DeSmet (11-3) 68-56.    

...CBC junior standout guard Caleb Love found his shooters, especially early on. The 6-foot-3 Love can fill it up, but with Andrews shifting into the starting lineup, the Cadets need a distributor. Love is a willing and accurate passer who made several full-court passes for assists in transition. Love finished with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. He threw down a thunderous two-handed dunk in transition that helped quell a De Smet run and pushed the Cadets' lead back to 31-21 with 3 minutes and 48 seconds to play in the first half.

Mizzou’s Cuonzo Martin and Louisville’s Chris Mack will be in for 2020 five-star Caleb Love today, a source told Stockrisers and Prep Hoops. Major target for both schools, Ohio State will have an assistant on hand as well.

CBC (11-5) slipped by Rock Bridge (8-2) 67-66.   

Love had 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals.  With University of Missouri basketball coach Cuonzo Martin among the standing room only crowd, Love continued to impress with the ease at which he scores and how deftly he shares the ball.  Love knocked down the go-ahead runner with 2:03 to play and then hit one of two free throws with 1:15 left to give CBC a 65-62 lead.  He could have iced the game with 4.9 seconds to play but his first attempt in the one-and-one bonus was off.  Rock Bridge grabbed the rebound and raced up court for late attempt only to have Jackson poke it away as time expired.

NEW INFO:  It took nearly three and a half quarters but Caleb Love finally got in a groove.

A standout junior guard for the CBC basketball team, Love scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the last six minutes of the game to push the Cadets to a come-from-behind 59-51 win over Soldan Thursday night at Soldan.

The No. 4 large school in the STLhighschoolsports.com rankings, CBC (12-5) has won four in a row and six of its last seven games

CBC (12-6) beaten by Cardinal Ritter 86-69.  Love scored 18 points, grabbed four rebounds, handed out two assists and had four steals. But the silky smooth scorer had just one field goal at halftime and managed only one field goal in the third quarter.

Caleb Love has drawn the attention of many this season. The top-30 junior has seen rising interest from many programs and recently took an unofficial visit to Louisville on January 6th, the day after Chris Mack watched him drop 25 points.

One program that’s recently gotten involved is North Carolina. Many others have gotten involved but it’s the programs that have stayed involved that could benefit the most.

His father, Dennis Love, says they’re currently planning visits to Virginia, Mizzou, Indiana, UNC, and Texas. He’s been to Indiana on an unofficial just over a month ago. Love has become a top priority for many of these schools and it’s evident.

As for whether any will be official visits, Dennis Love says that still hasn’t been figured out.
