https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/10-of-the-hottest-assistant-coaching-names-in-college-baseball/

The list is quite lengthy but here's the comments specific to Simmons  --  Derek Simmons, recruiting coordinator, Indiana: Simmons, 36, has built an impressive, varied resume as an assistant coach, working at Central Michigan, Kennesaw State, Alabama, Kent State and Indiana. His experience in the Mid-American Conference is especially relevant this summer with four jobs in the league open. Simmons is in his fourth season at IU and in a good spot, but his time as a head coach is coming.

Feb 20th home opener could be a real hoot. Might be sunny and 48° or sleeting and 26°.

How does the rest of the B1G look for the upcoming season?

Iowa looks very good, like us. Outside of that.. TBD. Maryland lost their coach.

Some notes I had--- the FR class is some well-put-together dudes--

Andrew Wiggins- 6'4 225

TJ Schuyler- 6'2 225

 Sal Sefcik- 6' 225

------

FR Top 150 FR Jasen Oliver appears like he is only going to be a position player. He could win the 2B job, for sure.

My guy Jacob Vogel is a RS FR- 6'7 260

Cerny put on 15-20lbs

Holderfield 15lbs

Bohnert+Bakes are out for the year.

We probably have, on average, the biggest/tallest pitching staff in the country. Never seen so many 6'4 230lbs+ dudes.

------------------------------------

I'll take Whiteaker as my "under the radar" guy this year. I think he gives us big innings.

---------------------------------------------------

Joey Brenczewski RS FR 6'3 195, Brandon Burckel, Cal Sefcik, Oliver will be the guys to look for to be palying 1B/2B/DH... lots of options there. Brock won't catch every game. I would think AJ Sheppard would catch the games that Brock doesn't---but you have TJ Schuyler, Bode, and the transfer from Purdue, as well.

------------------------------------------------

Sinnard is a huge loss. Undeniable... I can get down with what Mercer said--we have a lot of depth on the mound. Kraft, Risedorph, Foley, Bothwell, Manase, Whiteaker, Phillips, Holderfield, Ey, Decker-Petty, Vogel, Rushing, Benes--- then the 6 transfers-- Keyster, Moffitt, Buhr, Grable, Rybarczyk, Tongihini.... Mercer and staff created a lot of competition.
