This was not the first time we've watched Garcia.  This from Brian Snow during last April's evaluation period originally posted by ccg.

Dawson Garcia, PF, D1 Minnesota - Garcia showed high level ability on Saturday. At nearly 6-foot-10, Garcia can make shots from deep, attack with the dribble, and then despite needing strength, he is fairly good at finishing through contact. As a rebounder he is solid, and will grab boards both in and out of his area. Garcia is still a bit of a work in progress, but the talent is clear.

Head coaches from Minnesota and Nebraska watched him, as did assistants from Iowa State, Stanford, Xavier and Indiana.

Quite an interesting piece on Kiyron Powell of Evansville Bosse who suffers from epilepsy, especially in the wake of the unfortunate incident that involved James Franklin of Indpls. Cathedral in a game at Center Grove several weeks ago.

Mishawaka Marian 55    Goshen 48      Saturday night game.

Goshen News:  The Knights were led in scoring by 6-4 junior Jaden Ivey, who poured in a game-high 25 points.  If the last name sounds familiar that’s because Jaden is the son of former Notre Dame All-American Niele Ivey, who help lead the Irish women to a National Championship in 2001. Jaden’s father is former Irish wide receiver Javin Hunter, who went on to play in the NFL for the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.

“Jaden is a very good player,”  Goshen coach Wohlford said.  The younger Ivey thrilled the crowd with three dunks in the contest. He almost went the length of the court on one of them.  “He is said to be going to either Notre Dame, Purdue or Butler for college. I think he could be in the NBA some day,” Wohlford said.

Ivey was 9-18 on FG but 0-6 on 3's; 7-7 FT

From a preview of the upcoming SIAC tournament in Evansville.

Bosse (8-4) matches up with Central (3-7). The Bulldogs beat the Bears on Dec. 18 and appear to be improving following the loss of point guard Kolten Sanford (broken foot). Junior forward Kiyron Powell is averaging close to a triple double (9.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 8.1 blocks).
