HoosierAloha Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Irrelevant? That hurts man. Haha, you had me laughing hard this morning. Wouldn't it be crazy if the product we saw on the court was the result of the problems we solved on this forum? Alford Bailey and Stuhoo 2 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 He also stretches the floor. Crean is good with spacing that creates driving lanes and open shooters. If you play two bigs, without one stretching the floor, you go away from that spacing and clog up the lane leaving no lanes to drive. Wasn't it coach Mack asking DD where he could find a guy like Hartman? He's an all glue guy. Give your frosh time to see the game and come in against a second unit. I don't think we'll see Davis scoring like we think he should immediately either. mamasa 1 Quote

Stuhoo Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 There really is no reason for Hartman to start. Not from a strategy or talent look at it. (As a fan) ... I strongly disagree. I very much like Hartman as a starter. For smarts, spacing, effort, outside shooting, post passing, and leadership. HoosierAloha and mamasa 2 Quote

I'm just not sure Davis will average double digit points and I'm completely okay with that. Quote

Without a scoring PG I wonder if this will let Blackmom fit in better m. Crean still need to make him play D or sit down though. Quote

For smarts, spacing, effort, outside shooting, post passing, and leadership. if Bryant doesn't come back then start Hartman. If not then start the big guys. DD isn't coming to Indiana to play behind anyone. Especially Collin Hartman. I doubt Crean got him to Indiana by saying he'll be coming off the bench. Davis was our "big get" in recruiting. Do you really think Collin Hartman will keep him from starting? It'd be a different story if it were a more talented 4 like Christian Watford IMO. Quote

Walking Boot of Doom Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 http://youtu.be/neZ5vc_bJ8E Watched this today. I was in third grade when he got fired. I knew what IU basketball was all about but obviously I didn't have an adult mind. Wonder if there were be a massive celebration on campus if Crean got fired? I'd partake I have a very hard time understanding the kind of person who would celebrate the firing of a good man with a family in the same manner you would celebrate a major victory. There's never a reason to celebrate a good person losing their job. If Crean were to be fired, I'd hope he received the standing ovation he deserved for a job well done, even if it was an incomplete one. At this rate though, I doubt there will be any firing celebrations for you to partake in. You might have to settle for celebrating a B1G Title. lilly, mamasa and Parakeet Jones 3 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Wouldn't surprise if Glass does it again on the heels of a B1G title. We still have 5 years left on Crean's current contract. Glass would actually have needed to lose his mind to give another extension haha. I think that the two year after the B1G Title was arguably the lowest point of Crean's career at Indiana. Between the poor performance, terrible defense, turnovers, off the court issues, lack of team chemistry, and recruiting misses, he was lucky to keep his head. Two B1G Titles in four years would put Crean into the elite B1G coach discussion though, which would be incredible. Quote
mdn82 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 That can be brought off the bench. We don't have to start him just because he's a senior. He is not a Senior and he does the things needed to win. Doesn't turn the ball over. Makes the smart play. Boxes out. There isn't any player on our bench I want starting over him. I doubt many if any coach in America would want him on the bench in winning time or starting. mamasa, ALASKA HOOSIER, Stuhoo and 1 other 4 Quote

I'd check around on some rosters if I were you before saying that. There are teams with very good 4's where Hartman would be coming off the bench. There is nothing wrong with coming off the bench. And the turnovers thing isn't true. He actually has a to% of about 20%. Quote

You do realize for someone that spends a majority of his time being a catch and shoot guy his to/40 rate of 2.0/game in this offense isn't bad don't you? He is at 19.9. I get that's not pretty but his role he plays very well. Quote

HoosierAloha Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Now it's more of a stretch 4 is the rage. Not traditional If either DD or TB can stretch the floor and defend on the perimeter that could be a huge front line. If not I think we see Hartman or OG at the "4" or both of them at the 3/4. I guess a lot depends on Troy. mdn82 1 Quote
