Students aren't there so go park at the Briscoe dorm lot for free. $10 north of Mellencamp Pavilion if you feel like paying. Just about the same walk for either.

I'll be headed up to the hall Saturday for my first game, any suggestions on parking?

Was just discussing that as it popped up. Our original thought was to take an uber/taxi from hotel to event, however, that may not be possible with all of the other things I wish to see and do. So, just what is the parking situation like?

Good to know. Any chance campus police might be there to issue tickets.

They have you covered well. If you stay the night plan a visit to Village Deli for breakfast.

I will do that for sure. Spending the night at the Hampton. If we win, there's a good chance I won't see much of the next morning, so I hope they serve a late breakfast.

Is the new one on the West side busy on game days? Not nearly as nostalgic but planning to stop by that one before the game.

Yes. Longer lines/waits than downtown. Tried that one both times I've been in town before games and couldn't get in within an hour.

IU alum here, still live in Bloomington.

-Be prepared for terrible traffic on 37 ( Road from Indy to Bloomington) The traffic can be terrible with the construction of 69 currently. I'd leave early.

-Bars to visit since you're in your early 30's. Nicks , Kilroys on Kirkwood(might be closed though, construction I believe) , and Yogi's is nice.

- Food wise, id stick with the Bloomington musts, Mother Bears and buffalouies are my favorite. Nicks also has really good food.

-Try to check out Cook Hall before the game, it's amazing.

- Enter Assembly Hall through the South Entrance (Cook Hall side). They obviously redid most of it this summer, they have some really cool interactive video boards in the main lobbies of Assembly Hall

Of course, take a walk around campus if you can , it's beautiful. Students are gone for the most part so it shouldn't be too packed. Nightlife after the games to drink would probably be Kilroys on Kirkwood or Brothers.

We went to HH and got caught in a 6 mile back up on 46 in Brown county and then took 37 when we left and got caught in that mess. Hoping 69 helps traffic to Btown when finished.

If coming from Brown County, you can always try and take 45 off of 135. It's not as fast due to lots of curves, train tracks, etc but it has always been less traffic when I've been on it. Pretty much dumps you out in the same spot in B-town.

Hope you had a good time!

I did guys, I really did. The drive from Madison stunk. Torrential downpour the entire way...5.5 hours of white knuckle, can't see a thing. No problems and traffic not terrible. Went to Nicks prior to game time which was awesome. Met some cool people, got some digits from a lovely lady wearing candy stripes and headed to the hall with 1 shot too many....a blessing considering that start. (Game.) Afterwards, stuck around and got to walk on the court. Wow. Jordan Hulls somehow was standing 2 feet from me. I shook his hand and wished him luck. Great guy! Anyway, we split, players didn't seem to be coming out. AH was awesome. On to the nightlife...Had to stop back at Nicks to see if I could find candy stripe girl again...no luck. Tried the fries... can't remember name...and a half Stromboli. Numms. Then, off to Kilroy's....good lord...$2 beers and a bunch of people buying shots? Gonna be a loooong ride back. Going to see more of the campus tomorrow. Want to see Cook Hall among other things.... obviously disappointed in the Basketball but heck, ya win some and lose some. Wish the students were here. I blame the B1G for botching the schedule on this game....ok let's schedule the two heavyweights in our conference on a date when no one will see it and have it on National television...nice.
All around great trip I'd say. Thanks for all of you suggestions.
