That is very true, and I agree with that. Makes me wonder if there’s some type of internal issue going on that won’t actually be revealed until the season is over. If something is going on that is on the players minds, makes you wonder if they will ever be able to get it turned around, or care to for that matter...who knows.

Hard to say the future looks gloomy when Archie doesn’t even have a full roster of players who he actually handpicked himself to come play for him and fit his system. A few years from now we won’t have any players on the sidelines with Diet Coke stains on their jerseys, and if at that point we look like we do now then it’d be safe to say it’s on Archie. Right now he’s playing the hand he was dealt and doing what he can. I don’t care how good a coach his, if you have players on the team who are soft and don’t give a crap about showing any type of pitbull fierceness and grit, that’s just who they are and they’re gonna be that way. Archie wouldn’t have recruited the players Crean got on this team. We need shooters, we need players who have attitude, heart, passion, grit, fight, you name it...Archie is trying to get it out of them and they just are acting like they don’t want to have to do it.

I won’t disagree with that at all, it’s just pathetic and drives me nuts for them to go out of their way to point us out when we had nothing to do with the game they just played. Annoying. But what can you do I guess....we’ll have our time. Can’t wait to flip the script.

Now I get to go to work with handfuls of PU fans and instead of hearing about them playing well and beating Michigan State, they will just talk about how they think IU sucks....never fails...

I can’t imagine how frustrated Archie is with this team. I just can’t put the blame on him until his roster is completely full of players that he recruited himself that want to come and play for him and the system he’s trying to build. Crean’s recruits came to IU to play a different style of basketball and are being told to play a way that doesn’t fit how they hoped and thought their college basketball careers would be like. Not only are they most likely not the types of players Archie would go out and get himself, but they probably aren’t enjoying themselves at all and don’t want to HAVE to play the way Archie wants or how hard he wants. All they thought they signed up for was to come in, chuck up a bunch of shots, and get a deflection here or there......I don’t think it’s Archies fault that his rugged tough-minded personality isn’t rubbing off on Crean’s kids (Juwan is of course an exception)...These kids are who they are and aren’t gonna care what type of personality Archie has. If they don’t want to have to all of a sudden be that way when they never were in the first place then they won’t do it...it’s just not the type of people they are. There’s nothing wrong with the type of people they are at all, don’t get me wrong, it’s just that they don’t fit how Archie is and what he wants to be able to accomplish. It’s going to be up to Archie to recruit those rugged tough-minded kids that fit his mold and want to jump at the opportunity to play for him and his system....and I believe he will do just that.

This team is full of guys who are really good at missing open shots. I don’t think this is on Archie as much as some may think. We just don’t have knock down shooters at all. All of Justin Smith’s 3 point attempts have been completely wide open and every one of them looked ugly and couldn’t hit them. Need to recruit shooters so bad. I’m not comfortable putting this on Archie until the roster is 100% his guys who come to play for him and his system.

Dang, we get plenty of open looks, we just have so many guys who can’t make a shot on this team.

Agreed, and yeah I definitely am taking it with a grain of salt. Just wanted to pass along what others have said about it and what it could mean.

Personally, I have watched more Crean coached games than I ever desired Haha yep me too, just noticed the two teams would be playing. When I see the final score, I probably won’t be surprised no matter the outcome.

Kentucky at Georgia at 7:00 on ESPN tonight. Watch Crean find a way to pull that one off.

If we played Georgia, Crean would have a deflection hay day against our lazy passes..

Good to see Archie got to the team, but dangit it’d be so nice to see a team full of guys that don’t need that to have to happen.

I said this thinking Eastern was the kid Purdue got when we got Phinisee, but it was Eric Hunter, not Eastern, haha...oops....but I’ll still go ahead and think Phinisee is better.

Saw a stat from the Tennessee/Georgia game: Georgia went 17-53 from the field and shot 1-20 from 3pt range. Yipes

i've lost count at how many times i've watched the replay of Phinisee's shot at work on the computer....if watching that was one of my job functions i deserve a raise, haha.

Archie now 2-0 being a coach in the Crossroads Classic. With the way recruiting is going, I can see that "0" staying there for a while.

I said “I 100% think he’s coming to IU” as in: as far as my own opinion goes I don’t have any doubts...and “surprise” as in: WHEN he finally makes the announcement, not WHO he’s going to choose.
