Dolson said in his press conference that he had met with the current players as well as Logan Duncomb and his dad. My wondering if Dolson does indeed have his guy lined up if he would have given the players the heads up of who it’s going to be so that they had an idea of who will be their coach. Maybe, maybe not.

The thing I’m wondering is let’s say it is indeed Stevens, would they announce that before he’s done with his NBA season, or no way?

Let’s get this right so I can grow old seeing the same successful coach on the bench.

I will indeed say that when we first got Archie I was pretty pumped and thought that all he needed was IU’s resources and he’d do well, but definitely turned out to be wrong. I wish him the best, but this job was too much for him and he couldn’t figure it out. He’ll be successful at a school with much less expectations than we desire here at IU. Glad to see us being serious and getting rid of him though.

If the news has officially come out, then Dolson has to know who his guy is at this point right? Or not necessarily and he just knew he was getting rid of Archie regardless of who he ends up getting?

So you think if we do our homework to find someone better, will it for sure ultimately result in Archie being gone, or will Archie remain if certain targets aren’t interested? I didn’t know if it’d be a matter of him returning if we don’t hit our target, or will we just go down the list and it be someone other than Archie regardless.

Well now Indy Sports Partizan tweeted “false alarm.”

I bet it’s to let people know we didn’t make the NCAA tournament.

There was a tweet from Indy Sports Partizan last night posted saying “sounds like some good news coming tomorrow.” I looked more into that tweet and someone asked if he had any additional info, and he said “seen a few different people say there will be a press conference tomorrow. That could only mean one thing.”....so depending on where or who he saw that info could make it legit, or not. I sure as heck hope that if there is indeed one that it’s not Dolson coming out explaining reasons why we are going to stick with Arch, but that just doesn’t seem to make sense. I bet they play again because Archie still has packs of gum he hasn’t finished yet. Can’t just let it go to waste..

So are people starting to think there’s signs that show they are leaning towards Archie staying, or still no way? Not asking because we haven’t heard anything yet, it’s understandable that we haven’t this soon, but seems like there’s more talk of him staying. Hopefully those people don’t know anything lol

If we knew we could get Brad, would the announcement of Archie being let go be pushed off until NBA season over or would that not matter and we will still hear about Archie within days?

Are we talking the decision won’t be made on his own as far as who will be Archie’s replacement, or Archie even being let go to begin with?

If Stevens is def out of the picture, my personal preference I guess would be 1. Beard 2. Drew 3. Mack 4. Matta pretty much on par with everyone on here as the most mentioned candidates.

If there is indeed a shred of chance that Brad is interested and would come, would it be as soon as once this season is over, or would he be one we had to wait a year for? (I know we’ve said we’d be willing to wait for a guy like him, but didn’t know what would prevent him from not coming after this season)

Only reason I asked if Dolson already has someone lined up is because if it was a matter of Archie coming out saying himself he wanted out, Dolson could have not had someone lineup up yet when those discussions were made...so if Archie walks, I would wonder if Dolson had to then start talking to candidates. I just figured that’d be different than Dolson knowing he’s firing him and has already lined up who he wants. I guess that would all depend on if Chris007 thinks he’s getting fired or mutually agreeing to walk, based off him thinking his next loss will be his last game.

So if it is said that once we lose Archie will be done, is it safe to say at this point Dolson has his replacement lined up? Or will he still be working on it?
