  1. 6 minute scoring drought? Doesn’t sound like us at all...
  2. If there is indeed a shred of chance that Brad is interested and would come, would it be as soon as once this season is over, or would he be one we had to wait a year for? (I know we’ve said we’d be willing to wait for a guy like him, but didn’t know what would prevent him from not coming after this season)
  3. Only reason I asked if Dolson already has someone lined up is because if it was a matter of Archie coming out saying himself he wanted out, Dolson could have not had someone lineup up yet when those discussions were made...so if Archie walks, I would wonder if Dolson had to then start talking to candidates. I just figured that’d be different than Dolson knowing he’s firing him and has already lined up who he wants. I guess that would all depend on if Chris007 thinks he’s getting fired or mutually agreeing to walk, based off him thinking his next loss will be his last game.
  4. So if it is said that once we lose Archie will be done, is it safe to say at this point Dolson has his replacement lined up? Or will he still be working on it?
  5. Going up and matching Allen would make sense I suppose, but I wonder who would make the realistic list then at that number?
  6. Lol...yep, unless there’s some actual legitimacy to the rumor that guy said he heard, it definitely seems like one that’s pretty easy to falsely start knowing Matta is Archie’s mentor and good friend, but I guess you never know. People who think it could be true are saying Archie could just be tired of the losing and seems defeated, thinking it could be best for both sides to move on. I do agree that Archie has looked at times downright depressed, but a part of me still thinks he isn’t the type of guy to step away from something this big on his own...I guess we’ll see.
  7. Someone on other site said there’s a rumor that Archie has told Matta he wants out.
  8. You don’t think they wait til April next season as in they make the move this season, or you mean after next season they don’t wait til April?
  9. Boy do I hope Dolson realizes this...
  10. You could look at the same page differently and more simple as being Dolson telling Archie he’s not living up to his expectations of the program and Archie saying he understands and agrees. That would put them on the same page...so yeah, you can’t really take the same page thing as a definite 100% way without really knowing how they are feeling and the context of it. Could go either way.
  11. Let’s say the “same page” does indeed have to do with them both thinking there needs to be a change... I wonder if at this point Archie’s people have sent out feelers to other schools for himself, or if it could be too early for him to do that yet.
  12. I really hope Dolson is just being quiet now but then once the season is over he comes out like a lion and says enough is enough, changes need to be made, we are getting our guy. IU will be great again. That’d be sweet, ha
  13. I would also hope to think that Dolson is aware that if he got rid of Archie now, the new coach would be able to build the team he wants in a hurry because of the free transfer year. If he waits until next year, it’s gonna be a lot harder for a coach to build if he has to. I could see guys we have being more than willing to stay at IU for a new coach, and then if the new guy happens to need to bring anyone else in, it’s gonna be a heck of a lot easier to do it this year.
  14. I wonder if Dolson has that in mind at all and is completely aware of that possibility?...that if they wait to get rid of Archie, the coaches he has on his list could want to go to one of the other big schools that happen to open up instead of wanting to come to IU, and then he’s stuck with option 5. I don’t see how he could think a coach would want to say no now but yes next year.
  15. If Dolson was the main guy behind the workings of getting Bobby to come back and has the trust of all the big major alums, I don’t see how he can go on not seeing the sad state of the program and not want to make it better. He knows how successful IU basketball is supposed to be. You would think he’s got people in his ear everywhere saying Archie isn’t cutting it. He’s had 4 years and all have been losing conference seasons. How is one more year gonna be different? Sure he could bring in some transfers who he thinks can shoot, but didn’t he already bring guys who he thought could shoot and now they can’t? I guess I’m just worried to have to sit through another season expecting to have this year’s results. Definitely not something to want to look forward to.
  16. Thanks...with it being quiet now, like u mentioned, do you think that makes it lean one way or another or it probably just doesn’t mean anything?
  17. Yeah I’m trying to remember the days leading up to Crean being gone...wasn’t there word that there was a decent chance he was staying and people who wanted him out got panicky? Or were the winds all blowing in the same direction with him that he was for sure gonna be gone at this point of that season?
  18. Sorry to go back to this, but is it thought now that Tom Allen’s raise has nothing to do with showing signs that we could be moving on with a different coach and paying him more than what Archie is making? I know people have started to become uneasy about the possibility of coming back, but if Dolson’s thinking is give Tom Allen a raise and then go out and get a different coach which would obviously cost more than Archie’s salary, then maybe the signs are still there that a move is going to be made. I just didn’t know if anyone thinks that it’d make complete sense for Dolson to just give Tom a raise but keep Archie and IU basketball in the state that their in. A part of me wants to think, whether it’d wishful thinking, that Dolson doesn’t want to play around and is gonna pay up to get someone else in here to get things turned around...even if it may not be Brad Stevens.
  19. On his radio show Archie mentioned the difference between this year and last is that this year the teams at the top of the Big Ten are even better, mentioning Michigan, Ohio State, Illinois, and Iowa...well heck, 3 of those 4 teams have coaches that were hired the same year and after he was hired at IU. Why can’t you be up there with them Archie? Im sick of him saying things like “well we played a tough team in Michigan, they’re ranked #2 for a reason”...I don’t want to hear that. It should be IU ranked up there right along with them and we’re not.
  20. With all this thread has been through, Archie coming back for a 5th year just sounds so boring. I guess I just don’t see how transfers are gonna help him too much from becoming a stellar team and be so much more successful. If he couldn’t get the players he already picked to produce, then how will he get transfers he picks to produce? I can see it both ways to where 1. We actually don’t have as good of players as we think and we need some new faces, but 2. We actually do have a solid roster and a different coach would be able to get them to produce at a higher level. They say Archie’s defense takes a couple/few years to get into place and be solid, so what if he gets a bunch of new faces. How are they gonna be successful next year in his system their first go around? Our defense has actually gotten worse here lately and the players should know exactly how to make it work and they aren’t. There definitely seems to be a disconnect between Archie and the team and he doesn’t act like a coach how knows how to figure things out. People think we will lose a handful of the players we like on the team if Archie is gone, but I honestly don’t think so. I think they’d be more than willing to stay and play for a new coach. They genuinely seem to enjoy IU. I guess I just feel worried about seeing a repeat of this year next if he returns, and even if he happens to finish top 5 in the conference once the other teams have a down year, does Archie get extended for doing better? And then what happens when the other teams reload...Archie back to finishing 10th in the league again? I want to be elite because our coach is legit and knows how to get everything out of his players...not because the rest of the conference happened to give Archie a favor by having a down year.
  21. Let’s say Scott Drew is indeed contacting IU behind the scenes with interest in the job...is he someone Dolson would consider a serious candidate and make his job of getting rid of Archie easier knowing he’s got him on the line?
  22. I like that guess better than mine, ha
  23. He said “doh!” like Homer from the Simpsons...Republic as in Texas...Houston is in Texas..Simpson..SAMPSON.
  24. So even though we aren’t sure of the exact list of candidates, is it indeed safe to say Archie will be gone at seasons end, or is even that still up in the air? Thanks
  25. Yep. I understand the difficulties that come with playing in a larger stadium like that with the depth perception and larger area, etc...that stuff is indeed real...but for him to bring that up in the first place, knowing darn well he has a poor shooting team, just looks like “hey just a heads up, when we start the game 0-9 from three and miss a lot of bunnies, it’s gonna be because we’re in Lucas Oil, not because it’s what we’ve done all year...”
