RIP coach. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the university and young men you’ve coached throughout the years. So many mixed feelings in the public eye of the type of man you are but the true fans really know the positive impact you’ve had and the legacy you will leave forever. So glad he was able to mend fences and have that special moment in Assembly with his former players before he passed. I feel like if this would have happened back when I was still in school my family would have let me take a sick day, ha.

(2024) - PG Boogie Fland to Kentucky

I understand there could be a difference there, but at the same time, wouldn’t Clif follow because he knows Boogie will be someone he’ll be working with? -

Someone saw that Boogie has recently followed Clif Marshall on social media and couldn’t recall noticing him being on there before, so hopefully that could be something. Just adding that tidbit -

I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere that he’s announcing at 3:00pm game even though this team isn’t playing at that time -
Not saying this is gonna happen, but situations like this make me wonder if the staff is in the works of getting a reclass to happen and that’s who we add to the roster.

Not sure how legit this is, but just sharing what I saw. Posted within the last 20 min. Don’t know if the pic of him wearing the IU gear is old, photoshopped, recent and real, don’t know. Just passing along. Maybe others have more info about it.

Do you know if there are guys that haven’t even entered yet that the IU staff knows are going to eventually do so and are interested in/plan on getting?

Haha, she doesn’t care too much for it either, but knows darn well how much I enjoy it. She couldn’t care less about sports stuff. She never wants to watch it on tv but loves going to games in person. So I know if I get tickets to at least a few games a year and take her with me, I get to enjoy both the game and her mood at the same time haha.

Her response was just an eye roll, so I may luck out. She’s accepted the fact that Indiana Basketball comes before our marriage lol

Today is my 37th birthday. When I told my wife all I wanted was love she thought I was being sweet, until I mentioned I meant something else.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind having Love at all. If I know Mike Woodson would be the man coaching him up then I’d honestly take the way he played/was portrayed at NC with a grain of salt, but that’s my opinion. All it takes is the right leadership to get him on the right track to being a solid team contributor.

Yeah Essegian played where I went to school. He and his family were big Michigan fans but obviously never got an offer from them. Out of the list of offers he did receive, the Wisconsin one was the biggest. He also got one from Minnesota. I sometimes wonder if the Wisconsin decision was more of a matter of just choosing the big name school from the list. Kind of a “hey look at me, I’m going to Wisconsin”…which, coming from small town/school like Central Noble, has its star power and people around town just thought it was amazing (which it was). So IF he does enter the portal, I could see it being because Wisconsin just ended up not being a play style he wants to end up doing. He got his exposure his freshman year on the big stage and showed what he’s capable of, so he could be attractive to other big name schools now that he originally didn’t get offers from. Could it happen? Wouldn’t surprise me. But also not saying it’s actually going to because I have no idea.

That’s what I was thinking. Love could completely stray away from the way he played at NC with Woodson coaching him up and actually be a valuable team piece for us. Woody wouldn’t let him play like he did at North Carolina, and Caleb could be just fine with that, who knows. It just takes that right leadership to get through to him.

Coaching Changes Nationally
IUrocker replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Does such a specific clause in his contract exist because there’s already mutual interest and IU already knows they would want him? Or does he have that in his contract as a “just in case IU becomes available and I’m in the running, then I want to be able to go.”? -
Gotcha, yeah that makes sense. I guess he would have indeed been a different scenario for us since it would have been staying at same school.
-
I was thinking maybe since the kid is a senior at his school, he’s using his transfer as the free covid year thing which means it wouldn’t count against our scholarship numbers anyways....kinda like keeping Brunk and how he wouldn’t have counted against our numbers. Could be wrong though, not 100% sure on that.

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
IUrocker replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If I was a current IU player and saw those clips of Coach in NY with his former players and how they reacted and how Woodson treated them, I’d be so happy and excited. I’d think to myself “wow, that’s cool, and that’s MY coach”. Having the family atmosphere of being there for each other, letting each other know you care and would run through a wall for each other should really show a change in the way our guys play on the court. The passion and hustle levels are gonna be noticeably different, and my gosh it’s gonna be a sight for sore eyes. -

“Parker is a hooper. Parker shoots the ball at a very very very high level....he puts the ball in the hole and I’m really glad he decided to stay....he’s gonna space the floor and shoot that thing at a high clip.”

I wonder why he all of a sudden tweeted that info about Lewis? Did he just now find it out so he’s letting people know, or did he know it already and is putting it out there because the announcement of who it’s gonna be is coming? -
I just don’t see how Armaan would be the only guy to say no thanks now at this point...prob just gotta wait for his own announcement. I could be wrong and he goes elsewhere, but doesn’t seem like he’d take off if everyone else wants to come back.

Why does it have to be only April? November too far away.
