Even when someone is accused of DV and is actually innocent there’s often a cloud that continues to linger around them. Doesn’t seem to be the case with Beard, though. Imo, the most favorable reading of these facts for Beard is that his fiancée was instigating, maybe hit him first, and he then escalated. That’s… not ideal. He’s not the first person in sports to deal with these accusations. If they’re good enough, they tend to get a second chance. But it’ll probably take a while.

If Fife didn’t go to IU two decades ago no one would care about Woody firing him. IU didn’t give him some assistant coach special sauce. His boss didn’t like him and he wasn’t doing well at his job. That combination will get you fired about anywhere.

I don’t have a problem with the mindset itself at all. But just go out and do it. Our players have a habit of talking on social media but then laying goose eggs when they step on the court. In this case it’s not Xavier’s fault because he’s injured, but we saw it numerous times last year too.

The Woodson era will be the era where apathy sets in with a large portion of the fan base, imo. It’s basically where I am at this point. We needed a home run hire after we fired Archie and Mike Woodson was not that at all. It was Dolson waving the white flag in some ways. I hated the hire at the time and I still don’t like it. Woodson’s second season is looking a lot like Archie’s. At this point I don’t think IU will ever be elite again. It is what it is. Not all good things last forever.

Someone will, but it won’t be IU. Not sure he’s worth the blowback. After going to the title game in 2019 he’s gone 18-13/9-9; 18-11/9-8; 22-12/10-8. Meanwhile TT went 27-10/12-6 last year and made the sweet 16 without him and is 10-4 this year.

Matt Painter recruits guys we’d never want and somehow finds a way to get them to produce. I remember scoffing when @btownqb said we should recruit Braden Smith and now Painter has him starting/playing 29 mpg on the #1 team in the country. We regularly lose to teams with less ‘talent.’ Whatever happens to guys once they arrive at IU is beyond me.

Fans complaining on a message board aren’t why our team gets thumped at home by freaking Northwestern. The fans did their part today trying to energize the players. The players just lack the give a **** needed to show up and compete for a full 40 minutes. When you go from a GOAT level coach to the past 2 decades we’ve had of course you’re going to see a ton of negativity. It’d be no different if UNC or Kansas or UK dealt with what we’ve dealt with. Those schools just wouldn’t ever let it get to that point because they actually care.

Ahh 2015, the Zander Diamont era. I figured it was scheduled a while ago with how far in advance they schedule football games. The fact he scheduled it then makes it even weirder to me. Louisville was coming off a 3 year stretch where they went 11-2, 12-1, and 9-4. Did cool dad think he was scheduling a basketball series?
