Sure, maybe. But if we’re good enough to go into Mackey and beat Purdue without our starting point guard, we’re good enough to not let a very mediocre Iowa team come into Assembly Hall 3 days later and blow us off our home court by 22. That’s why I say we left a lot on the table this season. We never know when we’re going to get Dr. Jekyll versus when we’re going to get Mr. Hyde. I only bring up the preseason polls because of the comment that we met preseason expectations.

Yes, that’s my point. The 6-0 against them makes the 0-6 in very winnable games all the more disappointing. We beat PSU tonight and we’re playing for a championship tomorrow afternoon. The guys just didn’t show up. We go 3-2 in those 5 games instead of 0-5, we’re regular season conference champs. We’ve seen what this team is capable of, but that version of the team only shows up about 60% of the time. We were the highest ranked B1G team in the preseason polls and were the preseason conference favorite.

Kind of an underwhelming season at this point. Better than the Archie years, so it’s hard to complain too much, but it feels like we left a ton on the table. 0-6 against PSU/Iowa/Northwestern. The conference regular season and tournament titles were within reach, but we shot ourselves in the foot on both. We’ll see which team decides to show up in the NCAA tournament.

He definitely should be. They’ll give him the 4-5 years they give every coach but it’s clear as day he’s not the answer. This team is cooked.

I really don’t think we’re deep at all and that’s why the losses of Race and Xavier hurt so much. Trayce had to play all 40 minutes (with a bad back) and JHS played 35 minutes just to lose at home to Northwestern. That’s after they played 38 and 37 minutes against Iowa. They’re the only two guys who scored in double figures in either game. We’re those two plus a bunch of meh with Race/Xavier out.

The post they responded to was very mild and something you see posted all the time. The fact it set off our players shows their thin skin. Responding on social media isn’t going to stop the posts. Responding on the court will. But the former is a lot easier to do than the latter, and unfortunately it’s been this team’s primary response.

Even assuming arguendo that TCU deserved its spot, this game was the most predictable thing ever. At the least they should’ve put TCU at 4 after they lost to KSU to get the massacre out of the way in the semifinal.

You’re talking about a fan or three out of a fanbase with a million plus fans. If players get mad at fans having expectations, well, that’s on them. You don’t get all the glory that comes with being an IU basketball player without taking on any responsibility. Go play in front of 200 people at Stetson if that’s what you want.
