  1. Targeting continues to be the worst rule in college football.
  2. Maybe it’s copium, but the more I think about it, the more I think he’ll stay. This season shows that the sky is the limit at IU. I truly don’t think there’s anything a school like Florida can give him that IU can’t, other than the brand. And I don’t mean to dismiss the appeal of that, but it has drawbacks too. Florida expects to compete for SEC championships and will fire you if you don’t. Put together a 10 year run at IU and he’ll get a statue and probably the stadium named after him. We have a gigantic basketball fanbase that would love to throw its support behind a football program too. We just haven’t historically had a reason to.
  3. At least they talk to recruits. Woodson can’t even be bothered to do that.
  4. Hopefully the “negotiations” consist of Scott telling Cignetti to name his salary and list all the other things he wants and then Cignetti putting the list together.
  5. Thanks! What a strange situation. Aren’t Trey and Leal good friends? Maybe I’m just imaging that, but I thought they were roommates or something. If two players’ lockers need to be separated for team chemistry issues then that’s one thing, but it sounds like this was Woodson just wanting to flex his control. Mediocre Mike could not be more different from Cool, Calm, and Collected Cignetti. Cignetti doesn’t have time for petty drama. He’s too locked in. Woodson could learn a thing or two from our premiere program’s coach. His recruiting is going to tank even harder now that he canned one of his hardest working staff members.
  6. Dolson offering him another job pretty much confirms that it wasn’t something serious from Adam. I saw a post speculating that it could be Dolson trying to save IU from a lawsuit, but (1) as a young white male, Howard doesn’t fall into any protected classes, and he presumably was an at-will employee, so any lawsuit would be an uphill battle and (2) you don’t sue your former employee as a young guy with a very promising career ahead of him, he’ll have no difficulty finding another job immediately. The most likely reason is the obvious one, imo. He did/said something that Woodson didn’t like and Woodson, being the petty, ultra sensitive guy that he is, fired Howard for it.
  7. The IU fanbase is starving for a winner. Look at how the fanbase has embraced Cignetti. He came into historically the worst P4 program in the country. He didn’t b**** and moan and throw pot shots at the fans for not showing up to the games. He said “if you build it, they will come.” He built it immediately, and the rest of our home games have been sold out for weeks. Woodson came into one of the historically best P4 programs, has had sold out stands since he got here, yet he constantly throws pot shots at the fans for not being satisfied about 1 tournament win in 3 seasons. He treats everyone around him in the athletic department like they’re beneath him. He begged the Hysterics to get his daughter a job, and then he had a petty meeting with Eric to sever all ties because the Hysterics had a guest on their show who dared to question Woodson. Woody has consistently and repeatedly shown us who he is during his tenure as IU’s coach. For some reason beyond my understanding, he has a loyal army that constantly ignores the reality staring them in their faces.
  8. I don’t care what happens this season, I just want it to end with us hiring a new coach. His ugly brand of basketball with his team full of mercenaries is not my cup of tea.
  9. Woodson could wreck the Titanic and they’d be cheering him on as they sink. That’s basically what they did all last season.
  10. Ohh yeah the recruits are all flocking to IU, they love him!
  11. I don’t want us to go into next year relying on TJ. Hopefully they can bring someone in from the portal with a lot of experience for a competition during the summer. Landing Lewis would’ve been great for the optics, but idk how much he’ll impact a team next year as an undersized 18 year old reclass.
  12. He’s not a “bad guy” in the Chris Beard “bad guy” sense, and no one has said otherwise. But the way he’s acted in the media/public eye, combined with the way he allegedly behaves behind closed doors, does not paint the picture of a “personable guy that cares deeply about IU, its fans, and its history.” Rather, it paints the picture of a guy who loves Mike Woodson along with only those people who love Mike Woodson as much as Mike Woodson loves Mike Woodson. Anyone else is beneath him and unworthy.
  13. Those ticket prices are wild. I got a very solid ticket for the OSU game for under $200.
  14. The same thing could be said about many top teams this season. Who has Texas beat? Penn State? What about Miami? They beat 4-4 (0-4) Cal by 1 point and 5-4 Virginia Tech by 4 points. IU isn’t a fluke. We’ve trailed in only 1 of our 9 games, and we responded by scoring 47 unanswered points in that one. Our closest game was 14 points, and that was without our quarterback. We are one of the big boys this season. The only reason people are skeptical about IU is the program’s history, but that has absolutely 0 impact on this team’s abilities.
  15. The “weak schedule” stuff pisses me off. If Notre Dame was in our position right now they’d be ranked #1 in the country. Miami scrapes by mediocre teams, has no “great” wins, and is ranked top 5. We beat the piss out of whoever we play every week and these dips**** have us outside the playoff. There are not 12 teams in the country better than IU. Not a chance in hell.
  16. If Purdue was a person it would look like this.
  17. Talking about how we haven’t beat a ranked team and whether we should be ranked above Penn State as if they’ve beaten any marquee teams this year. I hope we score again here. Hang 50 on another conference team.
  18. Saturdays are sacred at football schools such as IU. We can hate on our crappy basketball coach the other 6 days, but Coach Cig deserves our full attention today.
  19. I HATE Big Noon kickoff. This OSU/PSU game should be a 7:30 white out under the lights, not 12:00pm.
  20. Since JHS was a first round pick, his salary was set by the rookie scale. His contract was 4 years/$17,882,808, with the first two years guaranteed and team options for the last two years. The Lakers used the second-round pick exception on Bronny, which lets teams sign second rounders to multi-year deals without counting against the cap until July 31 of their rookie season. His contract is 4 years/$7.7 million, with the first two years guaranteed, the third year partially guaranteed, and a team option the fourth year. Bronny is more of a 2 guard (even though he’s the size of a 1), so I don’t think he’d be competing with JHS for playing time. I don’t think anyone, including LeBron, thinks Bronny is capable of playing NBA rotation minutes at this point, and he won’t. He’ll be down in the G League this season. The 55th pick in the draft is a small price to pay to keep your franchise player happy. We’ve seen something similar with the Bucks having Giannis’s brother on the team for the past 5 seasons. Who knows if Bronny develops into an NBA player one day. Time will tell. If he doesn’t, that won’t be much different than most of the other 55th picks in NBA history.
  21. Sure, but I really don't see what Bronny’s contract has to do with JHS…
  22. Do you not realize that (a) the G League season hasn’t even started yet and (b) the Lakers have already said that Bronny will be spending the season in the G League?
  23. The Lakers are a great spot for guards to develop (Caruso, Reaves, Knecht is already getting rotation minutes). JHS just isn’t very good. He isn’t a good shooter and has bad athleticism. He was drafted on potential/physical measurements but that only gets you so far.
  24. If a donor donates money only for a certain player then sure. But while there’s no salary cap, there also isn’t a limitless pool of money. It’s more likely, imo, that donors give a certain amount toward NIL than it is donors give an amount for a certain player. The staff then has to decide how to allocate those funds.
