It’s hard to even get mad anymore. Woodson was a joke of a hire, and keeping him for a fourth season prolonged the joke. Scott Dolson has to know Woodson isn’t the answer. It’s just a matter of whether Scott will do the right thing and fire him. He didn’t last offseason. Maybe this offseason will be different. If it’s not? Then no reason for us to care more than Scott/Woodson do.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. Mike Woodson is who he has been his entire coaching career - incredibly mediocre. Some people are ok with it, for reasons only they can understand, while the rest of us can’t wait for him to be gone. You can give him the best talent money can buy, but his lack of coaching acumen will put a hard cap on the team’s potential.

We have a better SOS than Miami, SMU, and ND, and our loss was to, by far, the best team of the four. They beat the hell out of the SOS argument this past week and have now just completely thrown it out the window. So frustrating.

SMU beat 3-9 Nevada by 5 points. Lost to BYU by 3. Beat Louisville by 7, Duke by 1 in overtime, and Boston College by 10. They simply don’t want to put IU in the playoff. It’s as simple as that. No one objective looks at us and SMU and puts SMU ahead of us. They should just go back to the BCS computers. The playoff committee is biased as hell.

SMU being ahead of us is such a freaking joke. The ACC is a trash conference.

I feel like I’m going to be disappointed next season if we’re not back in the playoff hunt. I’ve gotten a small taste of CFB success and I don’t want it to go away.

Disappointing that the buyout is so low, but if we’re giving Coach Cig everything he wants (and it sounds like we are), it seems unlikely he’ll want to go elsewhere.

The SEC is overrated. They have quite a few good teams but no one elite this season. Not like in years past.

Alabama’s gotta be a lock for the playoff now with this third #qualityloss.

Hey his preseason combines have been a smashing success! Lol. The NBA connections were always overhyped. Sure they’re nice to have, but what elite coach doesn’t have “NBA connections” of their own? Woody’s obviously don’t matter enough to recruits to make up for his putrid coaching.

We’ve had 3+ years of Mike Woodson. We know what we’re getting. Even if the players are as good as advertised the team’s ceiling is capped because of the man driving the bus.

The results should correspond to the money spent. If they don’t then you’re wasting your money. If IU’s results don’t match the spending, it’s either that the players weren’t worth the money or the coach can’t coach the players.

I mean, Ohio state should win the game Saturday. They spent many multiples what IU spent. They’re loaded up with 4 and 5 star players while IU has a bunch of 0, 1, 2 star players. But none of that matters when you step onto the football field.How many stars you had next to your name in high school doesn’t matter. How much money a booster was willing to pay you doesn’t matter. Coaching matters. Effort matters. Desire matters. Those are the things that matter once the game starts. It’s why IU football is 10-0 and kicking the crap out of everyone while IU basketball has been, well, underwhelming the past 3+ years.

Because it was a 3 point game with 12 minutes left in the second half when I saw the score as I was scrolling through espn. Not exactly a rarity during cupcake season for Mike Woodson’s ball club. I’ve read the book plenty the past 3 years. I hate watching Mike Woodson basketball. It’s not an enjoyable style. Even the wins are often ugly. Instead, I’m wrapping up work for the week before I head to Columbus to watch the 10-0 Indiana football team play, essentially for a playoff berth. Maybe a new basketball coach next year will have similar success.

I didn’t watch the game. I’m not posting in the game thread so as to not clutter it for those who did. This is the Fire Mike Woodson thread. The team isn’t short on talent, Woody’s buddies made sure of that. So, an 11 point win against some random team in late November means one thing and one thing only - Mike Woodson being Mike Woodson. I don’t have to watch this specific chapter to know it’s the same book we’ve been reading for the past four years.

You complain incessantly about people posting in this thread and then you complain when they don’t. Mike Woodson couldn’t coach himself out of a paper bag. Some people love that and others can’t wait for it to be over.

They love bloviating about the SEC. Tennessee played Chattanooga, Kent St and UTEP and lost to an unranked team. If the SEC played 9 conference games like a real conference so many of these “two loss SEC teams should be in the playoffs” takes would be gone. You don’t see Big 10 teams playing Mercer or UMass in late November. I had no problem with a 12-1 SEC champ Alabama getting into the playoff over FSU last year. You only could pick 4 teams and Alabama’s only loss was to another playoff team. I thought they were clearly better than FSU. But now you have a 12 team playoff. Don’t lose 2+ games and then complain about being left out. I do hope they tweak the formatting, though. A mediocre ACC or Big 12 conference champ shouldn’t automatically get a bye. There’s clearly a P2 in college football with a steep drop off to get to the other conferences, and the playoff should reflect that.

They’re almost certainly going to keep us out if we lose to OSU. Why put a 1 loss Big 10 team in the playoff when you can put in SEC teams with 2-3 “quality losses”?

They really should let the computers pick the 12 playoff teams. They don’t even try to come up with arguments anymore. Ole Miss lost to Kentucky and LSU Alabama lost to Vandy. Tennessee lost to Arkansas and needed OT to beat Florida. You could have a 3 or 4 loss SEC team and they’d still argue for putting them into the playoff. The media won’t stfu about IU’s “weak” schedule but remains completely silent about Texas’s schedule. Texas’s best win is what, a 3 point road win against Vanderbilt? Texas got crushed at home by Georgia. Swap the uniforms and they’d be talking about how Texas has crushed everyone it’s played. Throw notre dame in too. Notre dame’s loss at home to a MAC team doesn’t keep them out of the playoff, but we should be kept out if we lose on the road to OSU.
