Alaska--I agree I like RoJo's game and we are better with him in he lineup. But--I can't agree on benching TW for long periods of time. We need his length and boardwork. No way we win the ND game without TW. It's also going to be hard to keep Hartman out of the lineup from here on out. I still like RoJo in place of Hartman when we go small and as a motivator for JBJ when we go bigger. I keep hoping RoJo's improvement will cause JBJ to feel pressure to improve his game. One can only hope! -
Have to like our chances in our first two Big Ten road games! They will set the tone for the rest of the Big Ten season!

Dakich: Blackmon couldn't guard a chair
rebelhoosier848891 replied to incrediboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agreed with most of your comments Old Friend until you stated "Crean doesn't work very hard recruiting". That's plain bull. He may not be recruiting the players you want but he is one of the hardest working recruiters around. Ask about any top prospect we are after how much mail--personalized designs---contacts--visits--games watched---etc. the staff and Crean put in. We have had McDaAA's for several years in a row along with many other top prospects. That doesn't just happen. That takes hard work. He and the staff have put years of work in with many of the top recruits we are after or have gotten. Plus--most of them are or were sought after by other major programs in the country. Crean bleeds Indiana basketball and he works his tail off. The problem has not been how hard he works recruiting. The problem is how he coaches them after they arrive on campus. -
IU vs ND post-game thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I have always supported Crean and appreciate all the positive things he has done to restore our program to respectability. But--IU has to be more than respectable---it has to be a perennial contender. We have waited long enough. I fell off the Crean bandwagon late last year and have serious doubts he is the guy to get the program to the top. Here's to hoping he proves me wrong and that the ND game is the first step to contenderville. The talent is there. We shall soon see if the coaching can get it done. Go IU! Whatever happens--I will be supporting our Hoosiers all the way! -
IU vs ND post-game thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
A day later---I will say the IU win and the UK loss has been the buzz down here in southern Indiana. That win sure helped with the fan base--- and the enemy base. It was nice to see IU's huge fan presence in Indy. It was great they had something to celebrate after the game. It's only one game but I will say there is a return of hope and renewed optimism. Time will tell! -
Crossroads Classic Pregame Thread

Now that the games have been played and the dust has settled---I find it amusing that after all the talk of little brother Purdue--they still haven't won a game in the Crossroads Classic. And---how did the ND game work out for you after your comments--Coach Brey! Way to go Butler and IU! -
This game was big for perception of the country, our fanbase, and even our own players. It was also a big game going into the Big Ten from a mental standpoint--- to know we can come from behind and beat a good team. We are going to have a lot of games like this on the road when the home team goes on a crazy run and we have to battle back for the W!

Dakich: Blackmon couldn't guard a chair
rebelhoosier848891 replied to incrediboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Dakich could have said it better but he said exactly what all of us have been thinking at times. JBJ did some good things today---dived out of bounds for a loose ball, had a good post feed to TB, and played good D at times-- but his D is still the weakness in his game. I hope JBJ will use the criticism from Dakich and Hoosier Nation to motivate him to get in the gym and keep working on the D. There is no denying he is a great shooter--but truly great basketball is played on both ends of the floor! -

IU vs ND post-game thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Late to the party--but my thoughts after watching the game were: Folks--I think Hartman has finally shook the rust off. He looks like the Hartman of old and we are a different team when he brings that tough-smart play--along with his hustle and good shooting. Glue Guy! I think TB is figuring out he can play with anybody. This game has got to be a confidence booster for him. Now--if we can get the team to keep feeding him in the post we will have something. RoJo --owned the first half. He was the only reason we were not down 20 and out of the game by halftime. He showed toughness on defense throughout. Troy--owned the second half with his intensity and determination. He played smarter and made big play after big play. He almost willed us to the win Coach crean deserves some credit because he finally made a defensive adjustment that worked--the 1-3-1 zone was effective. OG is going to help us. He has a Big 10 body and is not afraid to play defense and mix it up offensively. Max had some good play and got a few cheap calls as well. Yogi and JBJ were underwhelming today. I hope JBJ watches a replay of the game and hears Dakich say JBJ couldn't guard a chair. I say that not to be mean but he needs to know what we all see and get motivated and start showing us that he CAN play D. This team has so much potential. Just play average D and we could go deep in the tourney. -

The good news Queen O is that the peasants are all at the pubs tonight and have put the pitchforks and nooses away for at least one more game! Let's keep this win streak going! -

France once again proves its dominance over Ireland! Serves Coach Brey right after his comments this week. Talk all you want Notre Dame but the last time I checked---IU/Francaisland has all the banners! -

Late to the party---but what a great day it has been! IU wins and UK and Purdue lose---just doesn't get much better then that!

Don't like Bucky but I dislike the Cayuts even more. Go OSU---beat UK!
