Happy New Year ---to all IU/Francaislanders! -
Good recap. Glad we got the W..... But --I feel like we are stuck in a bad episode of "Groundhog Day"---it's like the 2014-2015 team all over again. We have to rely on our offense to outscore people and do not value the ball or play solid defense. We are looking like a mid-pack Big Ten team that barely gets in the tournament and is gone after the first two rounds. Come on Hoosiers----kick it in!

Given the next game---we'll put some extra CORN in the recipe! Let's go Hoosiers---shuck the corn-huskers! -
Maryland barely survives! Diamond Stone was a beast today---although in the first half he struggled defensively too. I hope TB is watching and thinking---"I can do that"! And I hope the team gives TB a chance by giving him the ball!

Looking more and more like you are right---SteelerHoosier.

Yikes! Too close for comfort Queen O! Our knights were better then their scarlet knights but not by much! What do you do when even the cupcakes aren't cupcakes?? Get a new Royal Chef/Baker???? -
Rough day for Izzo---has to have an effect when you are trying to coach knowing your father's situation. Izzo is a winner. MSU traditionally starts slow (especially now with the injury) ---but they will be factors come March. I want to see that kind of improvement with IU!

Max and OG helped us today and are going to help us down the road as well. I like that they play tough and don't mind playing defense. RoJo was off today---but he has been so consistent all year that I think he will be fine. Hartman had his times and Yogi stepped up in the second half. What are we hearing on Blackmon????? How bad is the injury???? We will have to play better then we did today to beat Nebraska on the road.

First off--ANY road win in the Big Ten is a good win. We will take it---ugly and all. Unfortunately, we look a lot like last year's team. We can beat anybody at home but will struggle against everybody on the road. Until we get turnovers and defense under control we will win a little over half our games in the league and eek into the tourney poised for an early exit. I am tired of this. It's frustrating but that is where we are at this time.

BIG wins for Iowa and Purdue today. Just the start of the roller coaster ride that is Big Ten basketball. It's going to be a wild year and the only thing predictable in the Big Ten is the unpredicitability of the conference race. It's wide open this year---especially since MSU is starting short-handed due to DV's injury. It's important for our Hoosiers to get off to a a good start. It really is anybody's race.

Buss is having a good year-averaging over 20 points a game and has 20 steals already. Slogans for the game: Hey Tyra--Let's make sure Yale don't miss the BUSS! Welcome to The Assembly Hall---aka The BUSS Stop! -

Happy hunting then Alaska! -
No doubting Sampson was a good coach and good motivator---his weakness was his ETHICS. He can win at Houston and he will probably get back to a major D1 school soon. I could see him fitting right in---in the SEC. I am still bitter about what he did when he knew he had already been in trouble and had to walk the line but I am more disappointed with the type of players he recruited. Character counts and despite our recent off the court troubles--- I think we are bringing in higher character kids under Crean. Unfortunately, they are not as tough-minded and that toughness is an area we need to continue to improve upon. We need that refuse to lose mentality!
