  1. My aging heart doesn't need nail biters but I'll take a win over PUke any way we get it. I have watched our last 2 victories from Las Vegas casinos so you know what that means? That's right, I'm not coming home until Tuesday, April 5. I'm just not sure which goes first my liver or my kid's inheritance! Today was indeed the perfect storm with our victory and the goose eggs for PUke and pUKe! A great day to be a part of the Hoosier Nation.
  2. He's gonna look mighty nice in candystripes!
  3. Sit on it! I'm on vacation and what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
  4. Been there, done that! You'll make it!
  5. Not a lot of young talent and several carrying way too much baggage, I.e., Calipari, Pitino, Boeheim, Williams, Huggins.
  6. IU. 77 POTFB. 76 Please let the good Troy show up!
  7. Post 38 TrueHoosier. "Legless by February, heartless by March". Starters log too many minutes in the blowout games and CTC running too hard late season practices. By his own words he worked them long and hard on Super Bowl Sunday after the Penn State loss and will probably do the same tomorrow. Of course they're legless and if you know you've got very little left in the tank you're going to be disheartened. Same old same old with a CTC coached team. And after today I'm afraid I'm moving on to the Troy please go pro bandwagon. I've read Hutch's post on Troy and I certainly respect his opinion, but Troy now has nearly 3 full seasons under his belt and every game we have to worry about which Troy will show up. Why should we expect he will be anything different next year? Today was bitterly disappointing.
  8. Au contraire, keep him out!
  9. First of all, I really blew it in Prediction League and I couldn't be happier.  Secondly, the team didn't crumble when Iowa got the lead.  They held it together, regrouped and made their charge at the right moment.  Thirdly, as so many posters have noted, the MVP of last night's game was The Bench!!  33% of our total points and the 28 - 0 margin over the Iowa bench. 23% of our total rebounds. 35% of our assists. 2 of our 3 blocks 3 of our 6 steals 1 TO Pretty impressive performance.
  10. Man, I am getting old!  I don't remember typing it in those exact words!!  :D   Kudos and a tip of the hat to whoever made the change and I'm jealous as hell that I didn't think of it first.
  11. Always a classy guy.  He was a good straight man to The General after honing his skills as a professional wrestling commentator interviewing the likes of Dick the Bruiser and the World's Most Scientific Wrestler Wilbur Snyder.
  12. VICTORY!    Lady Hoosiers  80  Illinois  68.             8th B1G win of the season and 2nd road win.   Didn't shoot particularly well but dominated the backboard by a 47 - 31 margin; 17 - 8 on the offensive glass that resulted in 17 second chance pts.  They did commit 15 TO's which allowed Illinois to score 22 pts.    Buss - 21 pts., 5 reb., 4 assists and 2 steals. Cahill - 15 pts., 12 reb. McBride, Gassion - each with 10 pts.    Gassion also with 9 reb. Royster great contribution off the bench with 10 pts. and 10 reb. in 15 min. of action. Cahill with her 8th double double of the season.   Congrats to the Ladies on a job well done.  Next game is a Valentine's Day special on the 14th at home vs. Wisky.
  13. End of the 3rd and it's far from over but the Lady Hoosiers still lead  62 - 54.   Buss with 15, Cahill 13 and off the bench Royster with 10 pts., Gassion and Cahill with 8 reb. each.  Anderson only Hoosier in foul trouble with 4.  Shooting % has cooled especially on 3's where they are only 3 of 14.  Continue to control the boards with a 36 - 24 rebounding edge and 15 -7 on the offensive glass which has led to 15 second chance pts.
  14. Illinois scored the first 7 points and then our Ladies took control.  Everybody in the scoring column. Buss - 15; Cahill - 9; McBride - 7; Gassion - 6 Cahill with 5 reb., Gassion and Anderson with 4 each; Buss with 3. No one in foul trouble.   Ladies outscored Illini 8 - 0 on fastbreak pts., and 11 - 0 from the foul line.  48% from the floor, 37% on 3's.  20 - 17 rebounding edge and only 5 TO's.   Good first half; just keep it going Ladies.
  15.  Or as a #5 seed, we are what seems to be the annual #5 upset by a #12.  And, before CTC can say how proud he is of the team, he'll first have to watch the tape.
  16. On 2/9, SB Washington defeated SB Riley 87 - 84.  Anderson with 12 pts. on 2 field goals and 8 of 9 FT's.; 10 reb., for Riley.
  17. http://indiana.247sports.com/Article/Indiana-focuses-on-basics-in-practice-after-Penn-State-loss-43598596   Excerpts: Indiana took Wednesday off last week, so IU head coach Tom Crean knew the team would practice the Sunday after its game at Penn State, regardless of result. Crean said that even heading into a game that will be complex with the number of strengths the Hawkeyes have, he worked to make Sunday’s long practice one with many simple teaching moments.  “It was a little longer and a lot more physical, a lot more scrimmaging,” Crean said of the practice. “ The practice lasted quite a while, Crean said. Though he has spoken throughout the season about tapering off practices to keep his players fresher for the final stretch of the season, the loss against Penn State fired him and the Hoosiers up enough to put in a full day’s work Sunday.  “It was a long one,” Crean said. “Hopefully they had DVRs so they could watch the Super Bowl later. I’m sure they got to see some of it, but it was more important that we get that out of our system and get ourselves ready for Iowa." Coachspeak at its best!!
  18. On 2/9, McCutcheon kicked the poop out of Benton Central 102 - 44.  Phinisee with 17 pts., 9 assists and 10 steals!
  19. On 2/9, Crown Point defeated Gary Andrean ( 71 - 51).   CROWN POINT — Grant Gelon was working his way out of a shooting slump. He took more time in practice to shoot, and tried to work out of the "wacky" feeling. Though the Crown Point senior missed his first two shots against Andrean on Tuesday, he knew the old magic was back. Gelon scored a game-best 25, including six 3s, in the Bulldogs' 71-51 win over the Niners (6-11). "Though I missed those first two, they felt right on," Gelon said. "I just kept shooting, knowing things would go my way a little. I'm a shooter, I have to keep shooting." Gelon hit five of his 3s in the first half, four in the second quarter, as Times No. 5 Crown Point built a 40-19 halftime lead. "Grant was the difference-maker for us tonight," C.P. coach Clint Swan said. "He allows us to mix it up and with him hitting from the outside, we're able to attack the basket inside."
