This game just doesn't have the feel that we're going to miraculously pull it out at the buzzer.

2/6, in an afternoon game New Albany defeats Columbus East 78 - 58.  Langford with a routine 33 pts.  He's now 31 points shy of 1,000 for his career.

If I don't get my afternoon nap it gets very ugly!

Unfortunately, this isn't the first game he's had this season where he's effectively been shutdown.  Can't determine if it's because opposing teams have simply shut him down with defense or he's just a streaky shooter. 

Happy Devin's doing well and it's someplace other than IU with all that happened involving him.  Truly hope it was a life changing experience.

On 2/5, Crown Point defeated Portage 56 - 29.  Gelon with only 3 pts. on a single 3 pointer.

Since there seems to be no 'love' between IU and Blackmon, I'm not going to follow his future games and post his stats.  I've seen him play multiple games and from my unprofessional point of view he's not what we want and he's not nearly the shooter his older brother is.   On 2/4, Marion defeated Muncie Central 73 - 66.  Blackmon with 14 pts. on 4 of 11 shooting; 0 for 3 on 3's; 2 reb.; 4 assists; 2 steals; 3 TO's. 

2/5, Overland defeated Smoky Hill 69 - 48. Davis with 5 pts.  Only had 2 fouls so not sure why his stat total might be low.

  If they would have done better homework, they would have realized that his last 2 gaudy years at New Mexico weren't representative of his earlier career coaching results.  Or to use the phrase some of the off-the-wall stock trading firms use in their ads, "past performance is not indicative of future results."

On 2/4 FW South Side lost to Jay County 58 - 55.  Boucher with 11 pts. and 5 assists.

Bittersweet win for me.  Extremely happy our Lady Hoosiers were able to re-group at halftime and preserve their undefeated season on the home court.  But I live in Logansport and I've watched Whitney Jennings play since she was in junior high and it was clear she was going to be something special.  So I guess I got the best of both worlds - we win the game and Whitney had a great individual game.  Somewhere in the thread someone asked if Whitney had been recruited by IU.  I don't know the reasons why, but IU was never in the mix.  Stories were that for whatever reasons the Jennings family did not like Curt Miller.

On 2/4 SB Riley defeated Penn 65 - 64.      "After sitting for most of the third quarter with foul trouble, Riley forward Damezi Anderson woke up in the final period to score 11 of his 13 points.  Anderson also finished with a team-high eight rebounds and four blocked shots."  [{South Bend Tribune]

2/4 McCutcheon defeated Lafayette Jeff 59 - 43.  Phinisee had 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks,  Pretty good night's work.

On 2/4, with New Albany leading Jennings 82 - 25 at the end of the 3rd Q, Langford exited the game with 44 pts., tied his own single game record.  For his 3 quarters of play he was 10 of 14 on 3's.

1/30, Marion defeated FW Northrop 62 - 39.  Blackmon 9 pts. on 4 of 9 from the field; 0 for 2 on 3's; 6 reb; 4 assists; 3 TO's.
