  1. Big game in Logansport tomorrow night (1/29) Marion Giants and Vijay Blackmon at Logansport and Jalen Adaway.  Game will be streamed on Walton Webcast; tipoff scheduled for 7:30:  http://waltonwebcasting.com/?crb_events=logansport-vs-marion-3
  2. Inadvertently posted this to the other Davis thread.  Question in general - should they be merged?   On 1/27, Overland was upset by Grandview 53 - 50.   Davis with 9 pts.; only stat I could find.
  3. On 1/27, Overland was upset by Grandview 53 - 50.   Davis with 9 pts.; only stat I could find.
  4. After a rough 3rd Q, the Ladies dug in their heels and remain undefeated at home this season with a solid 64 - 48 win over Rutgers.  Only shot 34% from the floor but they were 10 of 23 on 3's and 18 of 20 from the foul line.  The won the rebounding battle 40 - 29.   Buss with 24 pts., 4 assists and 7 reb. and after a couple of rough outings only had 2 TO's tonight.  McBride and Cahill with 12 each.  Buss and Cahill with 7 reb. each; Anderson with 6.  Royster solid contribution off the bench with 6 reb. and 4 pts. in 13 minutes of action.   Good job Ladies!
  5. Rutgers came out firing in the 3rd Q and have made it a ballgame but our Lady Hoosiers are still leading 45 -38.  Buss with 20 pts.; Anderson 7; McBride 6.  Still only shooting 29% from the floor but have hit 7 of 17 on 3's and 14 of 16 free throws.  Anderson has attempted 8 free throws by herself; Rutgers as a team has only 9 attempts.  [Didn't we just see something similar last night?]
  6. Strong 2nd Q for our Ladies and at the half they lead 31 - 17.  Shooting up to 29%; controlling the boards by a 21 - 14 margin and taking care of the ball with only 6 TO's while Rutgers has committed 11.  8 assists on 8 made shots -- if only the men could have been half that good last night!!  And the ladies are 10 for 10 from the foul line.  Buss with 16 pts. (4 3-pointers) and 4 reb.; 6 pts. for Anderson; Gassion 4 reb.
  7. Alex McCarthy ‏@akmccarthy 5m5 minutes ago Hudson (Florida) offensive tackle Grayson Stover tells me he committed to Indiana tonight. Former USF commit: http://bit.ly/1XDusQN  #iufb
  8. Ugly shooting in the 1st Q by both teams but our Ladies lead 11 - 8.  We're shooting 21% and Rutgers 28%.  Buss with 7 pts. and 4 reb.; Cahill and Gassion with 3 reb. each but Cahill picked up 2 fouls.
  9. On 1/22, Overland defeated Cherokee Trail 63 - 55.  Davis with 22 pts. on 6 of 8 shooting.  Made 10 of 12 free throws; 15 reb., 6 blks.  Overland continues to be ranked #4 in Colorado 5A.
  10. 1/26 LI Lutheran defeated Iona Prep 58 - 47.  Green scored 21.
  11. I'll start making my afternoon naps last 15 minutes longer!     :P
  12. The Scarlet O'Hara's Johannson's Letter's Knights (12- 8) (3 - 5) visit Assembly Hall.  The Lady Hoosiers (12 -8) (4 - 4) are 8-0 in games played in Assembly Hall this year, making them the only team in the Big Ten with an unblemished home record this season.  It is the second time in three years that IU has won its first eight home games of the season.   Tyra Buss has scored in double figures in every game this season and in 24 straight games dating back to last year, the longest such streak for an IU player since Quacy Barnes scored in double digits in 37-consecutive games to end the 1996-97 season and to start 1997-98.  She also leads the team in scoring (18.6 ppg), assists (4.5 apg) and steals (1.9 spg).  Amanda Cahill is averaging 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in Big Ten play making her one of just four players in the league averaging those totals in conference play.   7:00 E. 13. I haven't gone back and watched any replay but it seems to me you knew how the game was going to end at the first media timeout just from the helter skelter manner Troy was playing.  I sometimes wonder if he's not chugging gallons of energy drink before he steps on the court.  If early in the game he's under control, he'll likely have a good positive outing but when in the early moments of the game he's just running around maniacally it's gonna be a long night  -- and it was.
  14. Yes, the officiating was horrid but it always is at Wisky and you need to be prepared to get screwed on the calls.  But the officiating alone didn't cost us this game.  Troy a no show for most of the game; virtually no bench help and little ball movement as evidenced by only 6 assists on 28 made shots. What's critical at this point is how this team bounces back against Minny.  Do they bounce back with a convincing beat down or does tonight's game signal the onset of our usual end of season swoon?
  15. We're not shooting the ball - only 42%; Wisky at 52% Only 2 assists on 13 made shots Troy pretty much non-existent in the first half as was Max Playing 8 on 5   And we're still only down 1.
  16. Just caught the ESPN crawler that Keith Smart has to take another leave from the Heat for more skin cancer treatment.
  17. Jeremy Price ‏@JPPrice 3m3 minutes ago Indiana coach Tom Crean gets lustily booed by the folks in Wisconsin, not that they've ever seen him win here with the Hoosiers. #iubb     Gee, I hope CTC doesn't go McIntosh!
  18. IMO JBJ is high maintenance and needs a lot of stroking.
  19. And this my friends is why I don't pay to be an ESPN Insider!
  20. ESPN Insider - Tuesday Truths:  Trust in Indiana, but verify the Hoosiers by John Gasaway.  http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/insider/story/_/id/14645093/indiana-hoosiers-unbeaten-big-ten-play-yet-tested-league-best   I don't pay so I can't pass along anything more than the web address.  Maybe someone who is a subscriber can give us a Cliff's Notes version of the commentary.
  21. And in fairness to the PUke section at Sunday's game, I never heard anything that was remotely offensive or over the top but they were absolutely non-stop in their support of the Toiletmakers.
  22. [Martin @ #116]  And don't even get me started on our total lack of organized chants, songs, or literally anything to increase student pride. A member of Timbers Army would never miss a game they had tickets to because they know how important their individual voice is due to incredible organization. Maybe if the student ticket organizers could do literally anything to organize the student section, more people would show up to participate.   Yesterday I was in Mackey Arena for the PUke vs Iowa women's game.  The PUke band is located behind one of the baskets and they literally never shut up except between quarters and halftime.  They were organized and yelling something every second and they were loud.  This was for a women's game and the arena around 50% full.  It was impressive.    And for those who are concerned, I was careful to be sure that all of my inoculations were up to date before going to the game and I underwent a HazMat decontamination after leaving Mackey.
  23.   Did a little more investigation and for the season (20 games) Tyra has 76 TO's.  In B1G (8 games) she has 31.  In the Illinois game on 1/20, she had 5 TO's and 6 in this game against Northwestern so the last couple of games have been pretty rough for her.
