Assembly Call @AssemblyCall 1m1 minute ago Actually, Zeisloft is now at 50% for season. Entered 30-73 from downtown. He's 5-7 today. The world is right again. -
Ohio State getting another beat down today at Maryland. Down 32 with 14 min. left. 80 - 40 with 10 min. left to play. Final score 100 - 65. 2 butt whippin's for OSU; love affair with Matta might be waning.

I cringe every time I see TB roaming out to the 3-pt. line on the defensive end. -

Our level of play from our previous 2 games is following the same trend as the stock market - down, down, and more down. :( -

On 1/15, Mishawka Marian (11 - 2) defeated SB Riley (12 - 4) 77 - 74. From the South Bend Tribune: "Anderson struggled with his shooting touch, hitting 10 of 24 from the field (5 of 12 3-pointers), and scored 25 points for Riley." -

Not trying to defend him, but do we know if he actually played or was out with illness or an injury? -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati

As a side note, the win over Logansport was McCutcheon coach Rick Peckinpaugh's 500th win over a 37 year coaching career. -
How about this as a wildcard thought. JBJ's rehab is lengthy and now that he's had major surgery on both knees, he simply isn't the player he was nor ever will be again (yes, I know that's looking at a worst case scenario). Is it possible he would transfer recognizing he no longer had a guaranteed starting position with the recruits we have coming in next fall?

My unofficial scorecard also had Phinisee with 4 steals. Very quick with his feet and quick hands. Expression never changes; good play, bad play. -
Maybe, but the freshman wall isn't something imaginary and I just don't think it's good coaching to leave TB in until the very last minutes of games that are essentially over. Look back at last year and see how JBJ and RoJo's numbers declined in the last weeks of the season and it coincided with our typical year end and B1G tourney slump. I don't think my comments were so much pessimistic as concerned that we need our frontline players to be as fresh as possible for the year end push for the highest possible NCAA seed.

TB's improvement has been extremely good, but I wish we wouldn't work him to death. He's playing an awfully lot of minutes banging around with more experienced and physically stronger players and the freshman wall is looming. At least we have Max to provide some relief in the middle. JM and OG haven't been worked to death with game minutes thus far in the season so maybe they'll withstand "the wall" a little better.

FWIW - HoopDirt less than scientific poll on next UNLV coach. Here are the results of this weeks poll where we asked our readers who they thought would be the choice to replace Dave Rice as the head coach at UNLV. Interestingly, Stave Lavin and Dan Majerle received the same amount of votes and tied for the top spot. Out of the large number of write in votes, New Mexico State Head Coach Marvin Menzies received the highest percentage – he got 2.9% of the overall vote, and 13.7% of the write-in vote). Steve Lavin (Former Head Coach St. John's and UCLA) 17.9% Dan Majerle (Head Coach Grand Canyon) 17.9% Reggie Theus (Head Coach Cal State Northridge) 15.8% Steve Henson (Assistant Coach Oklahoma) 12.7% Brad Underwood (Head Coach Stephen F. Austin) 7.4% Mike Brown (Former Head Coach Lakers and Cavaliers) 5.0% Todd Simon (Interim Head Coach UNLV) 4.4% Other 18.9% Leader: Marvin Menzies (Head Coach New Mexico State) 2.9%

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
http://www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1632719-romeo-langford-talks-visits-and-improvement ROMEO LANGFORD TALKS INDIANA AND PURDUE VISITS AS WELL AS HIS IMPROVEMENT. Romeo Langford is having a tremendous sophomore season and is proving himself to be one of the best player regardless of class in the state of Indiana. Four-star wing Romeo Langford has made huge strides as a player in the last 12 months. Langford has improved his game by leaps and bounds, and now is becoming one of the priority recruits in the entire country in the 2018 class. For the 6-foot-4 Langford things can look easy at times. He has the smooth athleticism and high skill level you want in a player, and he combines that with a drive to get better. Now his sophomore year is going well, and Langford and his teammates are making a statement with their play. Romeo Langford New Albany Senior HSNew Albany, IN 6'4" / 170 lbs SG Rank5 IN SG Rank1 Midwest SG Rank3 Interests6 24 “So far so good on the year,” said Langford. “We have one loss, but we have bounced back strong from it and are having a good season.” He continued, “I am working on everything. I know I have to improve in every single category. I think the things I really need to get better with are my ability to changes speeds and also continuing to get stronger.” To go along with significant recruiting attention from schools such as Ohio State, Indiana, Butler, Purdue, Louisville, and others, Langford is now getting a lot of buzz as one of the best players in the state of Indiana. About the increase in attention, Langford said, “I am kind of used to it now. At first it was overwhelming, but I like it.” This season Langford has been able to make a pair of in-state unofficial visits. “I have seen Purdue against Vanderbilt and Indiana against Ohio State,” noted Langford. About the visit to Purdue, Langford said, “The atmosphere was great. The students and fans were into it and the game was intense. I had a good time there.” When it comes to Indiana, Langford said, “I liked the visit a lot. It was a fun game and the atmosphere at Assembly Hall was great.” While the recruiting process is going well, Langford says he and his family and coaches aren’t focused on that right now. “I don’t want to go all over the country and focus on recruiting, right now,” explained Langford. “I just want to focus on my team and help us win the state tournament.”
