  1. Lady Hoosiers simply didn't have the firepower against a very good OSU team and lose 97 - 70.  Outrebounded 50 - 36 and 23 - 13 on the offensive glass.  Also turned the ball over 16 times  -- seems to be a common problem for Indiana basketball. Buss - 19 pts., 7 assists Cahill - 17 pts.; 10 rebounds Anderson - 14 pts.; 7 rebounds Walter - 11 pts
  2. End of the 3rd, IU Ladies down 67 - 55.  Good thing Tyra Buss didn't miss the bus as she has 19 pts. and 7 assists.  Cahill with 13 pts. and 8 rebounds and Anderson with 10 & 5.  OSU is a very good team and they are dominating the glass at both ends.
  3.   Too many second chance buckets for OSU with 11 offensive rebounds.  Cahill with 3 fouls a big concern for the 2nd half.
  4. Strong 1st quarter by our Ladies against the #5 ranked OSU Doeeyes with the score tied at 18 thanks in part to 4 of 5 on 3's.  Buss with 8 and Walter with 6.
  5. On 1/6, Overland defeated Mullen 73  - 35.  Davis with 14 pts.
  6. Just have your dental assistant "do... that voodoo... that YOU do... SO WELL...!"
  7. Despite his popularity, I would think MSB is the next Creaning candidate if needed.
  8. Marion defeated Guerin Catholic 78 - 61.  Blackmon 17 pts. on 6 of 15 from the field; 2 of 6 on 3's; 5 assists; 1 TO.   Next game 1/9 at FW Southside.
  9. I love Hartman as a hardnosed team player but he just doesn't seem to have the lateral quickness to keep his man from driving around him.
  10.   Hope we're not making that same last statement next year!
  11. Golly, wouldn't a 3 OT game be neat tonight?   NOT!
  12. The 1976 team may never want to set foot in AH again after watching this fiasco even if we're able to squeak out a win.
  13. NCIS is currently airing a good episode that will crossover into NCIS - New Orleans.  Much more interesting than IU basketball tonight.
  14. Now seeing tweets that it will be aired after the game is over.
  15. We dodged a major bullet that TB played as many minutes as he did in the half after he picked up his 2nd foul.   24 points in a half  --  so much for our high octane offense.
  16. Hartman on the bench with 3 fouls; how long before TB gets his 3rd?  Not going well at all.  FWIW, Jeopardy just started.
  17. Wisky has 4 offensive rebounds; we have 3 total rebounds!
  18. Thank you Hoosierdogg.  I've kept seeing references to 12 members of that team but in fact, there were 13 and your mention of Jim triggered my fading memory.  Jim Wisman was a member of that team and I think it was Wisman who came in for the injured Wilkerson in that championship game.
  19. Tom Abernathy: "We're here to support the coach (Tom Crean) and the players. They're Indiana. We're Indiana."
  20. See tweets from the pre-game event being held in the women's practice gym.  9 of the 12 members of that team are there:  Jim Roberson Wayne Radford Bobby Wilkerson Scott May Quinn Buckner Kent Benson Tom Abernethy Jim Crews Scott Eells.    I'm mildly surprised that Roberson is there as he was 1 of the 3 players kicked off the team 6 games into the 1978-1979 season for marijuana.   Just for fun facts, the 3 that are not there: Bob Bender - Freshman; transferred to Duke Mark Haymore - Sophmore; transferred to UMass; passed away in 2004. Rich Valavicius - Freshman; transferred to Auburn.
  21. Aurora Sentinel - Jan. 5, 2016:  Boys Basketball: Overland’s De’Ron Davis is Colorado’s lone boys McDonald’s All-American Game nominee     AURORA | Colorado only has just one shot at sending a player to the 2016 boys McDonald’s All American Game, but it is a really good shot. Overland senior De’Ron Davis, a 6-foot-9 center who has signed with Indiana University, is the lone boys player from the state to earn a nomination on a list released Tuesday by McDonald’s. Overland senior center De’Ron Davis is Colorado’s only boys basketball player to receive a nomination for the 2016 McDonald’s All American Game in Chicago. (Photo by Gabriel Christus/Aurora Sentinel)The McDonald’s All American Games — for boys and girls — are scheduled for March 30 in Chicago at the United Center, home of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. The boys game, the 39th all-time, will be broadcast on ESPN at 8 p.m. CT, following the 15th annual girls game at 5:30 p.m. CT. ESPN has televised the all-star games for 19th straight seasons. According to McDonald’s, this season’s group of 24 boys and 24 girls will be selected from a pool of 755 senior nominees from 49 states and the District of Columbia to play in the games. Nominees came from high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee, which will pick the rosters. Rosters will be announced during the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Show on ESPNU, scheduled to air at 8:30 p.m. MT Jan. 17. “It’s through dedication, hard work and their time off the court giving back to their schools and community that these students are being recognized,” Jay McAvoy, McDonald’s Owner/Operator, said in a press release about Colorado’s nominees. “It’s an honor to have them representing the Denver area in the 2016 McDonald’s All American Games and we wish them the best of luck.” Going into Tuesday’s night showdown between his 8-0 Overland team and 7-0 Regis Jesuit, Davis has averaged 15.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots per game in his first seven outings. He is coming off a 20-point performance Dec. 19 in helping the Trailblazers win the championship of the Platinum Division at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. Davis’ former teammate, currently University of Wyoming player Austin Conway, received a McDonald’s All-American Game nomination last season.
  22. Good time to merge this thread with the surgical news thread?
  23.   And that part of CTC's statement "...he has a tough road ahead of him...." suggests to me it's a season ending injury and not a simple scope job that would permit him to return in a couple of weeks.  And I in no way mean this in jest, but if it is serious surgery and season ending and now the right knee after having surgery on the left knee, then I can not foresee him opting for the NBA draft or attempting to go overseas and we'll see him in candystripes next season.
