  1.   I can pretty much agree with everything you said except for your one sentence "...I see it as a sign he may be changing the way he recruits..."  I see it as just more of his haphazard recruiting style and I in no way mean that as a knock against 2G.  CTC reminds me of a little kid at Christmas who every time they see a toy ad on TV, says "Mommy, I want that, I want that!"
  2. Anything can happen but I'll certainly be surprised if it's us.  I've just had the feeling for quite some time that both sides were just going through the motions of recruitor and recruitee for the sake of appearance.  But hey, I'm old and cranky what do I know!
  3. That truly is the $64 question.  It does seem like the proverbial throw mud at the wall and see what sticks.  Random, haphazard -- it's hard to discern any pattern or see any consistency in our recruiting effort.
  4. Sure they do but down there it's called Cal'sAnus.
  5. Well, you can certainly bet that it won't be: Calculus English Lit Chinese 101
  6.   If we haven't been all that warm and fuzzy in Gordon's recruitment of late (supposition on my part) then I highly doubt a late push would be successful.  I've always had the feeling that we were never that high on Gordon's list, that mentioning our name periodically was more a thing of just being polite.
  7. Gee, does anyone possibly think that there was an institution wide lack of control?
  8. Lot of head scratching and concern because our first commit isn't one of the elite we've been recruiting.   First of all, there's a lot of roster openings for 2016 and there will be again in 2017.  Secondly, this young man isn't blind to who else we're recruiting and has to know that playing time could be sparse and is therefore more than likely a 4-year player something many of the 4 and most of the 5 star players won't be and I'd much rather have someone like 2G taking a roster spot than some of the other less notables CTC has recruited tying up schollys.  Thirdly, I don't think a 4 or 5 star recruit will be scared off because we've gotten a commitment from 2G.  The bigger concern to me is the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, commitments for 2016.  We do need some triples and home runs and not a bunch of singles.  Sorry for throwing in a baseball analogy but speaking of baseball everybody keeping tabs on Schwarber I hope.
  9. Hey, it's a start!  Welcome Mr. Gelon.  We know you'll look good in candystripes.
  10.   Love picking up players from the backyard of that school that wears dirty yellow and black uniforms.
  11. Top 3 is nice, but when's someone going to say we're #1 and give us a solid commitment?
  12. I think both Morgan and OG are in a great position.  They both should see lots of minutes without the pressure or expectations that many have already placed on TB.  A year of understudy in 2015-2016 should pay good dividends in 2016-2017.
  13.   Yes, adding Bryant was a great piece to the puzzle, but he will be a FRESHMAN and it's a total unknown as to how he'll stand up to the rigors of B1G competition especially as the season begins to wind down in February.  Let's not put undue pressure on his shoulders and expect him to be the savior who carries us to the promised land of a Final 4.  If the rest of the team doesn't show improvement most notably on DEFENSE then a Final 4 is just another heartbreak.
  14. Sounds like Hibbert's off to the Lakers but no details on what the Pacers get in return -- maybe a draft pick and cash.
  15. Iman Shumpert to re-sign with the Cavs -  4 yrs / $40 million.   Paul Pierce reportedly to sign with Doc Rivers and the Clippers for 3 years / $10 million.
  16. Some great humor that Aldridge's meeting with the Lakers and Kobe didn't go really well.    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2512395-twitter-reacts-to-lamarcus-aldridge-reportedly-crossing-lakers-off-his-list
  17. Tyson Chandler to Phoenix - 4 years; $52 million
  18. Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas both fantastic basketball players and both who could break an anvil when it comes to being basketball execs.   On-court stardom does not automatically qualify you for the boardroom.
  19. Draft Express reporting Charlotte has concerns with Vonleh's adjustment to the NBA; difficulty picking up plays and question his feel for the game.   To quote Don Corleone, "It's just a business."
  20.   That sounds as if you'd prefer to stay mediocre so we don't lose our coach?    And in my earlier post, I did not say I expected to compete for a national championship every year but I do think we should expect to consistently have a winning record in our conference.  Getting a 6 win season to qualify for a bowl but having a losing B1G record just doesn't excite me.  All that means is you loaded the non-conference schedule with cupcakes.
  21. Why be satisfied with 6 wins and a meaningless bowl game?  I know it seems like we haven't been to any kind of bowl since Moses built the ark, but to look for a minimum of 3 of the 6 wins to come from non-conference games means we're nothing more than mediocre in the conference and I don't think we should be satisfied with that.  Personal opinion nothing more than that.
  22. Does anyone else think that a $1,000 cash bond for someone charged with his crimes is a little too cheap?   IF, he is a dealer in cocaine and heroin as he's been charged, $1,000 in cash is nothing and he's already back on the streets.
  23.   More opportunities for TV commercials.
