(2017) PG Dana Evans to Louisville
JSHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
It'd be nice to pair Buss with another high caliber player like Evans. -
I'm ready for 2016 IU Football
JSHoosier replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
It's not just his arm strength, it's his accuracy as well. He struggles to throw a pass on target that should be pretty routine at this level. He needs a lot of work with passing in general, not just arm strength. -
I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

He needed a redshirt season badly. As it is he'll have to make a huge jump as a passer or we'll struggle if he's getting regular playing time. -
Yeah, I expect pretty well all coaches fudge those a bit. I've even heard a coach admit to adding about an inch in height and about 15 pounds in weight. And he did. He'd have players listed at 6'2 that were shorter than me and I am 6'2.
-
He's probably going by the listed height, which does say 6'7. I always advise to take those with a grain of salt.
-
It might look pretty good up close where you can see the detail, but from a distance it just looks like a giant sweat stain. The design would have to be kept pretty simple to make out detail from a distance and keep it from looking like said sweat stain. Why do I specify "from a distance"? Because that's where most people see them from. Besides, those teams aren't winning because of the jersey.

I like the concept, but the execution was horrendous.
-
What kind of neighborhood was that strip club in for him to need the AK-47?
-
One thing I'll add is that I'm closer to the group that doesn't think Gelon will do much of anything, and again that's coming from a person that thought Hartman was being written off too soon.
-
We'll have to agree to disagree. Scouts aren't perfect, there will always be error in the rankings because they cannot watch enough of each kid to definitely say who is 40 and who is 50, or who is 120 instead of 130. It's not a science. We always see people saying a lower ranked recruit Crean went after is underrated or a "diamond in the rough", and it happens with every lower/unranked recruit he goes after, but there is a reason players like Oladipo make such a good story. Gelon could end up out performing his ranking, I'm not writing him off but I'm far from sold. That's coming from a guy that thought posters were writing Hartman off too early, and had said he could be a solid contributor his junior/senior season.
-
Rankings aren't the be all end all, but at the same time they're not completely meaningless. Generally speaking the higher rated the recruit the higher chance of success, if a recruit is ranked that low there's probably a reason.
-
Hulls was also Indiana Mr. Basketball and at least one ranking service had him a 4* recruit.
-
Kind of where I am. I think it's a lot closer between the two than posters on this board want to admit. Sure you couldn't watch the UK game and definitively say Ulis was better but an unbiased view could watch it and say Yogi wasn't definitively better either.
-
Yeah, losing by less isn't really a consolation for getting smacked around two rounds earlier.
-
This. Over time there will probably only be a small handful of people that remember the point margin, it'll just be remembered as OU losing in the Final Four and IU losing in the S16. If the situation was reversed many, if not all, the same posters would be saying we still made the FF instead of saying they'd rather get blown out less in the S16; and if they say otherwise I'm throwing the BS flag. You always want to advance and FF > S16, the margin doesn't really matter at all aside from a possible Jeopardy question because so few people remember.
-
I wasn't really referring to your post. To be honest, after reading through again, I thoughts comments hado been made that actually hadn't. Although there was definitely flip-flopping after UNC. To your question, you take the Final Four every time.
-
Some of the flip flopping that happens on this board makes me laugh. First some posters wanted UNC because they like to play fast, then we get smacked around and it's a bad matchup. Now preferring a friggin' Sweet 16 over a Final Four run because we didn't get blown out as bad even though we still got our arses whooped. No, no, no. Just no. A Final Four appearance over Sweet 16 any day. If we made the Final Four and got massacred it'd be "we still made the FF", and by some of the same posters too. Just like no one cares that Marquette got stomped in Crean's FF. Bottom line: we got whooped too, and even earlier.

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
JSHoosier replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes there are. I know a few very attractive girls that went/go there, granted one transferred out. Not many mind you, but a few. -
Painted over?

The New York Mets discussion thread.
JSHoosier replied to Bittersince87's topic in Major League Baseball
That's because the Astros have like 5 fans. -
I haven't noticed that. One seriously annoying thing I've noticed is that sometimes when I try to quote a post the quote it puts in the text box isn't the one I clicked on (and sometimes not even in the same thread). Not every time but it's been happening slightly more often. This time it worked properly, but a moment ago in a different thread it didn't.

I thought UL gave happy endings and (hopefully) free screenings?

I remember hearing that now. Very poor taste on the professor's part.

Coaching at this level is a pressure cooker. It's not unique to Indiana. Family should be off limits, but at the same time coaches and family have to understand that any job of this stature has drawbacks like that. Not endorsing it by any stretch, but it's not unique to Indiana.
