  2. Kinda funny to think back in the mid-2000’s IU had a small $30 annual fee for athletics that was quite controversial. They dropped it and to make up for the lost revenue the north AH bleachers shifted from students to alumni. I agree there is something distasteful about students paying this. Not all of them care about sports, they’re supposed to be mostly paying for an education, and student debt is a concern. But, sports are a big part of the college experience and it’s not like each student’s tuition is perfectly spent on just what that student uses/wants. I don’t know the answer here. I’m not sure this is possible given disclosure laws, but the optics would be better to just increase tuition and funnel money to the AD on the back end… that happens a lot of places already. It’s tough for some ADs to stay competitive, especially outside the B1G and SEC. I think it’s usually the schools’ fault for several reasons. We shall see what congress does.
  3. More on this series. https://www.on3.com/teams/nebraska-cornhuskers/news/ranking-the-big-ten-punter-5/ Harris #3 CB. Ferrell #1 S. Radicic #1 K. Gowers #3 P.
  4. Touch the entire IU network have one NIL budget or is it broken down by campus? Could IU do this with all their campuses to funnel money to IU football
  5. That’s about $15 million in revenue. My first blush reaction is that this really sucks, but I can’t put my finger on exactly how. Full price students pay for academic scholarship students to go to a school and this seems to be an exponential version of the same thing.
  6. West Virginia University has (and is increasing) an “athletics advantage fee” that charges its student population $500/year to support their athletic department’s NIL. The fee is mandatory… At least their honest about why they’re doing this: Why has this fee increased since last year? “Continued success of WVU Athletics programs in today’s collegiate sports landscape depends on these additional funds. Strong athletics is now mission-critical in increasing enrollment, enhancing our institutional reputation and brand identity, and amplifying momentum on the national stage.” https://tuition.wvu.edu/mountaineer-athletics-advantage-fee?utm_source=cision-news-release&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=general&utm_id=strat-comm&utm_content=gen3348
  7. If anyone is interested Boca Ciego has a couple of full games from last season on YouTube. Think I know what my Saturday morning is gonna look like now.
  8. I got that email too. If I got them, it’d be more of a long-term investment rather than wanting them for the upcoming season. The early season games are against crappy schools, and then many of the other games are on weekdays, so I’d rather just pay to get good seats for a few games than get season tickets and sit way up in the balcony. I just can’t make a $1,500 bet on IUBB having a good season next year.
  9. Man that dude attacks the rim with bad intentions. Not sure of the level of competition but he looks really good in that video. Will be interesting to watch and see how he does on the AAU circuit this summer. Really like the way he plays defense too. Would be torn between he and MJ Curry for the SF/ athlete role in this 2027 class. One of those two to go along with Chase Branham, J'Lon Lyons and one of Paul Osaruyi/ Ahmed Nur/ Jeremy Jenkins would be a great 4 man class.
  10. Wow. he and Paul Osaruyi on the same team. Belle Vista is going to be loaded again. Really like this offer. Cannot have enough shooters and he appears to be a great one.
  11. thanks, the next great generational talent is going to be Mohamed Dabone, yep that is his name. He was born 10/21/2011 in Burkina Faso. There is a lot of controversy concerning that date. People cannot believe he is that young because he is so skilled and coordinated at such a young age. He is playing in the FC Barcelona developmental program and has been called up to play with the main team for a few exhibitions and preseason games. Going up against pros at 13 and holding his own. He is 6'11" with a 7'4" wingspan and is a phenomenal rebounder and defender and his offensive game is raw but expanding. Doubt he plays high school or college in the US. Will probably go straight from Barcelona to the NBA in 2030. But remember that name.

  13. Happy 5-month anniversary, everyone! Jan. 19, 2026 -- a date which will live in infamy.
  14. Really great get. Gotta keep him until signing day. Can’t like that quote enough ‘nobody does like Indiana.’
  15. The staff offers 6’7” “29 wing Bob Da Silva. From Denmark and played club ball for BK Amager and for the Danish U17 team in FIBA competition. Attends Andrews Osborne Academy in Willoughby, OH and travel ball for Indiana Elite on the 3SSB circuit. Haven’t gotten into him yet, but given his age, he’s about to turn 17, this feels like it might prove to be a ‘28 offer. https://247sports.com/player/bob-da-silva-46166343/ https://www.fiba.basketball/en/events/fiba-u16-eurobasket-2025-division-b/teams/denmark/383330-bob-da-silva https://www.hudl.com/profile/28122666/Bob-Da-Silva
  16. I’m sure they have said it before. Just the reason why has changed.
  17. Coaching matters. Let's hope he signs and plays in the 812.
  18. “but nobody does it like Indiana.” It may never stop being jarring hearing kids say this stuff about IUFB.
  19. Good get if it sticks, but December is a long way off. Being able to land guys like this is another step in building the program.
  20. And he commits to Indiana. Of course, hopefully he signs. We beat out Miami and Georgia... just like with Fernando. I liked this quote: "Miami, Georgia, great programs, they develop players as well, but nobody does it like Indiana."
  21. Talia G - Reported on OVs from Brookslee Colvin and Anna Moser. Upcoming visits next week from ‘28 Love Best and Marlee Coleman; ‘29 Geralynn Byers and Kristen Winston; ‘30 Taylor Nash and Aryelle Franklin. ‘29 Ella Watts on July 1.
  22. In recent years IU Ladies sure haven’t won with rebounding and defense that is heavily emphasized with unimpressive results.
  23. Aug. ‘25. Impressive call @mike vannice
  24. The staff offers ‘28 top 5 C Bamba Touray. Originally from Senegal and plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL and travel ball for Tre Mann Elite in the Pro16 League. Shout out to @mike vannice who I believe called this one a while back. https://247sports.com/player/bamba-touray-46157918/ https://www.on3.com/rivals/bamba-touray-250788/
  25. That’s intriguing. Sounds like the kind of guy we hope sticks around for his soph year and we get to see it all come together. Hope we get continuity with this group and Karvala keeps developing with that athleticism
