  1. Past hour
  2. I usually don't give 2 Fuchs, but I would take the kid from San Francisco! I like the rebounding numbers and his name!
  3. And Northwestern wins the weekend series winning 9-6 today. Both teams scored a run in the first inning but NW scored 5 in its second and we had to play catch up from there and despite scoring 3 in our 8th we couldn't complete a comeback. NW had 12 hits (4-HR) off 4 IU pitchers plus we issued 8 BB. We could manage just 6 hits.; Hanley had 3 RBI. To add insult to injury -- our first series loss at Northwestern since 2006. Next weekend we play at PUke and the following weekend is the regular season finale (mercifully) hosting Illinois.
  4. UK fans have to be on suicide watch.
  5. Today
  6. Women end the regular season with a weekend sweep of Illinois winning today's game 7-3. Hooks started on Senior Day and went 5.1 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 BB and 1 run. Mannon and Troutt wrapped it up limiting the Illini to a total of 7 hits on the day. We had 9 hits with Josie Bird the only Hoosier to get more than one. But one of hers was a big one, a 3-run HR in the bottom of the 1st inning. And that followed an Ally VanBrandt solo HR. When the inning ended, we had a 5-0 lead and never looked back. Big Ten softball tournament scheduled for May 6-9 at College Park, MD. https://bigten.org/sb/article/59197/
  7. Dorn might end up being a piece we wish we kept when all said and done. His ability to stretch the floor in a 2 big lineup may be missed.
  8. There haven’t been major signings in the whole nation for the past three or four days. It seems to be a quiet time with most of the major players committed. We are in a much better position than expected based on who we have. Now it’s time to scheme them up and coach them up.
  9. Hard to believe there’s no rumblings of something..
  10. Inject the Masshole tears straight into my veins. Couldn't happen to a more deserving group.
  11. Interesting to note that although we've heard that Junjie Wang was a heavy U Mass lean, he has not committed anywhere yet. Could be he is looking for the right $ and playing time combination still. I do think we are getting close to the point where those still in the portal are going to have to reevaluate their price tag/playing time 'promises'.
  12. Wow, when you put it in summary form that really is pretty hideous. And yet, inexplicably, I feel in no way bad for them. Weird.
  13. Fun couple weeks in Boston Bill's world. Warriors Celtics blew a 3-1 lead Bruins losing a series to the NHL's version of Rutger BoSox firing a good manager cuz the front office nerds built an awful roster. All whilst waking up every morning hoping that the Vrabel/Russini saga doesn't take another turn and Josh McDaniels gets to fail upwards a third time.
  14. The Shamrock Slurper's podcast is gonna be must listen after blowing a 3-1 lead to Philly. Love to see it.
  15. If they visited Lincoln it was to see his casket- it was in August four months after he died.
  16. We could do worse. I’ve heard him interviewed and he seems like a solid kid.
  17. Bradshaw is the perfect 17-18 mpg big this team needs off the bench. He’s a quality depth piece and good enough to the point where you won’t fall off a cliff if Samet or Sherrell get hurt. His lack of development over the course of his career is concerning, but at this stage he is what he is and that’s more than competent for the role we need to fill the most.
  18. Kinda nice, ESPN’s final 2026 recruiting rankings has IU at 25th. So 3rd top portal class, 25th 2026 class rank
  19. Harris has me curious as hell. Such a great shooting stroke and was young and buried behind bigger names at Duke. He is a season changer if he becomes Lamar Wilkerson-lite.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Imagine going ‘65…1865. Talk about a politically charged environment. lol. Did they visit Lincoln or Johnson?
  22. As others have theorized, it’s likely a money thing. It’d be nice if we had an ace left up our sleeve, though. I think the Burton/Sherrell combo has enough potential synergy to be season defining on its own. But yea…odds are your assessment is correct.
  23. This roster is so different from last year or anything Devries has had before it is either a generational overcorrection, or Carr has a little more runway than it appears from the outside and this is what he prefers. I kind of like it as a high floor/low ceiling roster that can be built on next year
