Another big commit. It’s good to see another high level in state recruit go to IU - even if there is a year delay.

That's huge. The distance group will be really good. What has been a weakness for IU will become a strength.  They return Sarkany, already had Luke Ellis coming in, and now adding Whitlock. Then they have 2 really good distance swimmers coming in as part of the 2026 class.

About the in-state recruiting, I hope it starts to trend better for IU than it has. There is a lot of swimming talent in the state and IU doesn't seem to get much of it, at least not many of the top end. Between this commitment and Shackell's, that might change.

Aaron Shackell joins his siblings at IU which is unsurprising. I'm happy but skeptical, just like when his siblings joined since this family sends to have real commitment issues when it comes to universities.

Oh ye of little faith.   lol      But at least our staff shouldn't be caught off guard if it should happen with the IU commitments.

Here's the dual meet against Florida. You can also watch if you waste money on B1G+.

Edit for the results:

Women: Florida wins 170-130

Men: IU wins 208-92

Some of the freshmen looked good for both the men and women. The times weren't great for either team but not surprising since it's the first meet of the season and they're probably practicing very hard right now. The men won by more than I expected but Josh Liendo didn't swim any individual races for Florida.
