go iu bb Posted April 3 Posted April 3 IU wins 8 of 10 awards. Only ones they didn't win were the freshmen of the year. Men's and women's awards for the coaches. Before this year this would've been a sweep. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2025/4/3/mens-swimming-and-diving-big-ten-postseason-awards-reflect-indianas-national-excellence Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

The distance group will be really good. What has been a weakness for IU will become a strength. They return Sarkany, already had Luke Ellis coming in, and now adding Whitlock. Then they have 2 really good distance swimmers coming in as part of the 2026 class. About the in-state recruiting, I hope it starts to trend better for IU than it has. There is a lot of swimming talent in the state and IU doesn't seem to get much of it, at least not many of the top end. Between this commitment and Shackell's, that might change. go iu bb Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Aaron Shackell joins his siblings at IU which is unsurprising. I'm happy but skeptical, just like when his siblings joined since this family seems to have real commitment issues when it comes to universities. https://swimswam.com/us-olympian-aaron-shackell-announces-he-will-transfer-to-indiana/ Quote

go iu bb Posted August 19 Posted August 19 IU commits have a good showing on this list. It's really interesting to me how IU has shifted from distance swimming being a weakness to on the way to becoming Distance U with big time distance recruits coming in for both the men and women. https://swimswam.com/top-20-ncaa-swimming-recruits-in-the-girls-high-school-class-of-2026/ mamasa, Class of '66 Old Fart and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

go iu bb Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Here's the dual meet against Florida. You can also watch if you waste money on B1G+. https://swimswam.com/2025-florida-vs-indiana-dual-meet-season-opener-live-recap/ Edit for the results: Women: Florida wins 170-130 Men: IU wins 208-92 Some of the freshmen looked good for both the men and women. The times weren't great for either team but not surprising since it's the first meet of the season and they're probably practicing very hard right now. The men won by more than I expected but Josh Liendo didn't swim any individual races for Florida. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
