Demo Posted June 3 Posted June 3 NBA draft Twitter in a nutshell: Just read some “draft analyst” in writing up Cameron Carr extolling his “high vertical functional athletics.” That would be some top shelf parody except for the part about how it wasn’t. Quote
Demo Posted June 13 Posted June 13 NBA draft twitter maintaining its unbroken record of utter stupidity. Acuff’s full season sample size while receiving the best coaching of his career and playing against the best competition of his career may not really be reflective of where his shooting is because shamelessy chucking up whatever he felt like at Cass Tech and IMG indicates those numbers may just be a 36 game heater. Demo Posted June 13 Posted June 13 So, if Kohler was something he’s not…..he’d be something he’s not? Ok Sorry, but I’m obsessing on this today and no one’s home to distract me. There may be a few of these. Class of '66 Old Fart and Stuhoo 2 Quote
Demo Posted June 13 Posted June 13 So, 2 of the top 5 players in a really, really good draft are, 1) a 20min/night kid from the WCC who’s so athletic that he had 4 shots blocked against UK in the tournament, and, 2) a kid who’s played 60 mins in the last 16 months because he has a knee thing that some UK people are suggesting may be an early onset arthritis situation down the road and, btw, can’t shoot a lick and the stroke’s a problem. Kid’s being paid exactly what his opinion is worth. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

Demo Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Props where they’re due. This guy’s board is a little funky but has the virtue of Wilkerson at 45. Quote
Demo Posted June 13 Posted June 13 My new favorite. Putting aside that he’s nothing at all like Mitchell, Brown’s floor is a more athletic version of a guy who’s played a million years and given you 20 a night. Home Jersey 1 Quote

Someone with the floor of McCollum and ceiling of Mitchell would be #1 most years. With Brown's low back injuries already at age 20, his floor is needing a walker with tennis balls on the legs in a decade. Demo 1 Quote

Assuming the back stuff isn’t a thing Brown is probably my PG-1 because he can facilitate on the move in a way none of these other guys come close to. But he has some of the Caitlin Clark thing where he just doesn’t really value possession and that’s a problem if they’re the one orchestrating everything. You’d have to believe he’s coachable. Take note of the dude dinging Lendeborg for being too inclined to making the right basketball play over taking over possessions. Yeah, I’ll take my chances with that flaw, thanks. Quote
