NCAA fantasy hoops

Recommended Posts

We should find a way to do either a B1G or NCAA fantasy hoops for individuals. It would be fun. Could organize a draft. If we did B1G we could do 10 or 12 6 man teams. If NCAA, we could do 10 or 12 10 man teams. It could be rotisserie. Pts, assists, blocks, steals, 3s, FG%.

Thoughts? I'd be down.

Like fantasy football, can we have a team that we draft as our defense?

Ehhh I don't think that makes much sense for fantasy basketball. You're better off using individuals.

You'd also have to try and limit the conferences you can select players from. Otherwise you'll end up with players from Tennessee Tech A&M School of the Blind who drop 40 point against nobodies.

If you read the OP, he said in the B1G.

PPP would be a better indicator for defense than points allowed and FG%.

Easy statistic to find?

If you have KenPom it's on the game statistics page. You could also get a little funky with it and do dReb%, stl%, blk%, FTR etc. I'm not sure of how in depth you wanted to go but you could definitely make it interesting like that and wouldn't be hard using KenPom site.

I was actually thinking of doing a B1G challenge next season, during B1G conference. I haven't thought it all out or a scoring system. It would be picking winners/losers each week. You would also pick the score of one game at the end of the week as a tiebreaker. You could win the week and have part roll over for a B1G champ. I've done college football like that at work and it was a blast. I might add picking a leader in a few statistical categories as well for extra points.

We need to do this! Have to keep it simple for the statistician. Thinking all NCAA or B1G?

If it goes past the B1G, it should only be the top 10 conferences or so. Otherwise like a previous poster mentioned, someone will win by having a team of unknown players crushing 300+ schools all season long, not just in Nov/Dec.

Yeah. Power conferences or just B1G. No mid major inclusions.
